Nick's Boathouse

We came for lunch on my birthday just my mom and I. I got the bay shrimp and fish platter and Exchanged my fries for the gouda cheese grits. I gave my mom my coleslaw since she loves it and took some of her fries. The fries were actually really good. My grits not so much. They were oddly cold and not very cheesy. The hush puppies were amazing and best I have had. Super moist and flavorful like an actual dish. Most places serve hush puppies like they dredged the crumbs out of the fryer bottom and mashed them into a ball. But not here. They were a true cakey style ball fried to perfection. If they are always like this I’d come back just for the hush puppies. But super sad how lackluster the cheese grits were. Grits are cheap and so easy to make and to heat up. They simply needed more cream and cheese. Not hard to do. We sat outside during the day at lunch time on a Monday. It was empty and just us. But the music was a bit obnoxious my mom is elderly and it was not her style at all and being super loud. The waitress was very understanding and graciously turned it off for us. Thanks so much! I’ll definitely be back.

Great water views with a very nice outside space! They also had live music, which added to the great atmosphere. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Most of the food was mediocre. The oysters were delicious, I would definitely go back to enjoy some oysters by the water. But I would not order anything else. I had the Shrimp and Grits, it was very underwhelming. The dish lacked flavor overall and the grits were very dry. My husband had the friend shrimp and fish, he was not impressed. The fries tasted old, the fish was over-fried. The hushpuppies also tasted old, I tried one and it was very overcooked. 5 stars for atmosphere and service, 2 stars for the food.

If outstanding customer service had a name, it would be Cara. It’s been a long time since we’ve experienced someone so genuinely attentive — Cara continuously checked in on us and made sure everything was perfect. On top of that, the 1½ lb of crab was truly a 1½ lb, not the downsized portions you sometimes get elsewhere. Add in the beautiful water views, and the entire experience was exceptional. We’ll definitely be back!

Wonderful dining experience! Sat outside right on the bay, beautiful sunset views. Had a wonderful waitress Alexis who was extremely helpful with ordering options and recommendations. Full bar and drink menu. Wonderful coffee and delicious dessert.

We had an Excellent anniversary dinner here. We have been many times over the years but most recently it had been a few years and they did not disappoint! Food was delicious!! It was exactly what we were looking for! Service was great as well! Started out slow due to being a bit short staffed..and a slow point in the day. However we barely noticed due to the friendliness and kindness we received once greeted. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and fun. The view is the best in the area!! We saw several beautiful birds hanging out nearby. Our server even took photos of us! This will continue to be a favorite for us!! Thank you for making our day special!
