Harmony Grove Overlook

Great place to hike. Not far from civilization. Great views.

I recently hiked the Elfin Forest Loop Trail and had a great experience overall. The trailhead is easy to find and well-equipped, with three porta-potties available and parking for about 30 cars, which is really convenient if you arrive early. I started the loop by heading to the right, which led to a fairly steep incline right off the bat. There are quite a few loose rocks, so make sure to wear shoes with good traction and watch your footing, especially on the way down. Despite the rocky terrain in some sections, the trail is well-marked and maintained, making navigation easy. The loop itself offers beautiful views, especially as you gain elevation. It’s a great mix of scenic lookouts and natural surroundings, and it feels like a good workout without being overly strenuous for someone in moderate shape. This is a fun and rewarding hike, and I’d definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a loop with a bit of a challenge and a lot of visual payoff.

Wow! I did not expect this hike to be so fun. Beautiful view and a great workout getting up the switch backs. It was fun to see people with their dogs on the trail too.
