I am updating my review after Dr. Ruff personally reached out and took the time to walk through my late dog’s case in detail. I truly appreciated the opportunity to better understand their clinical reasoning and the approach to her treatment plan. That conversation meant a great deal to me. Separately, and not specific to this clinic, I would encourage any pet owner whose dog is diagnosed with kidney disease to begin researching the condition as early as possible so you can have informed conversations with your vet about potential alternative or supplemental treatment options beyond a strict k/d diet. In my personal experience, the dietary changes were difficult for my dog, as food had always been a significant source of her joy. It might've been worth being more flexible on her diet to me, even if that meant shortening her life span by a small amount as it was hard to watch her struggle with it. You might have to be the one to bring these ideas up in the first place, so come well-informed and prepared to advocate for your dog depending on your situation. Additionally, if your dog’s condition declines rapidly or becomes critical, you may want to consider seeking care at a 24-hour emergency vet hospital that is equipped to provide interventions at any time of day and meet your sense of urgency. I share in hopes that it may help another family feel more prepared during what can be an incredibly overwhelming experience.

Today the news was good but what stood out to me, like every other time, is the very clear, kind, patient and gentle but candid and detailed way Dr. Groth told me what was needed for Roie’s care. These people are so incredibly nice and considerate! I have felt welcomed and gotten exceptional service from my first call to every appointment, no matter what. They squeeze my cat in even when they're crazy busy and they always make sure to address all my questions and concerns.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Carlson and the entire team at Vet Partners in Edina. They recently took in my 17-year-old cat, who had been in pain and suffering despite only minor relief from her previous vet clinic. From the moment we arrived, Dr. Carlson and her staff were compassionate, thorough, and attentive. Thanks to their excellent care, my cat is now eating again, clearly feeling better, and acting like her old self. I know that at her age, the end is inevitable, but right now she is comfortable, relaxed, and enjoying her days — and that means the world to me.
