Shelba's Pet Grooming

Was barely inside 5 minutes and walked out. Called ahead of time because I was told to bring my 4 dogs for only a nail trim between 10am-2pm. Realized I was going to be late and let them know I understood if they didn’t want to do it so late but they still said I could arrive. The second we got there 1 of our dogs pooped and she had crazy attitude saying we ruined her rug that we should’ve taken our dogs out for a walk before coming in which we did they just didn’t want to do anything. Then our little one poops and we’re cleaning it up and she angrily tells us to take them outside. Then I overhear her tell her coworker in the back “they made such a mess” like you’re telling me no dog has ever pooped😐we just had a horrible vibe and didn’t feel safe leaving our dogs alone in the back with her so I told her I’d reschedule and maybe come another time because I didn’t want to cause problems and she ended it by clearly saying “whatever it’s for you anyways” I’ve never felt so shocked about someone’s attitude over something so small and I’m pretty sure she was the owner which is the craziest part. Definitely don’t recommend leaving any dog with someone like this.

I have a 3yr old yellow Labrador, brought him in for a cleaning which was long overdue. The process was super simple, he got your basic cleaning. Not sure what they put on him but it’s been a week and he is still so soft and no shedding!! He’s happier and feels amazing. Highly recommend, and it was affordable for us so it’ll be something we do often! Thank you for taking such good care of our Lando!

I brought my husky and Shih Tzu here just once due to proximity about two years ago. My Shih tzu had an allergic reaction to the shampoo that was used so I had to bathe her the same week she was groomed. My husky is a rescue but friendly. She recommended that I have him sedated before returning because he is very active. I have taken him to other groomers since then and no one else has recommended sedation or found it necessary. Needless to say my dogs will not be returning. However just because this place is not a good fit for my pets does not mean that your pets won't have a better experience.

I always recommend Shelby’s Grooming to everyone. I use to live in Tallahasse Florida and drove 3 1/2 hours to Jax to have my 2 fur babies Jack and Frances (Frodo) groomed by Shelby. Both dogs were rescued, Frodo had no eyes, found her in a garbage bag. Jack rescued from Atlanta Humane society, where 250 ShitZu’s were retrieved from a woman overbreeding for profit. He lived in a cage, outside packed full of dogs in horrible conditions. I promised them both that I would never allow another human being to hurt them again. After years of searching for a groomer, I found Shelby through word of mouth. I read reviews, ciphering out the petty perfectionism and ego expectations of humans, knowing my pets wellness, safety, and their happiness were the most important qualities in service for me. After the first grooming of Jack and Frodo, there was no outward negative behaviors. I knew I found the right groomer. I no longer sought the fancy salons, which this is not. Shelby’s Groomers is owned and operated by women that is Spiritual, kind, and compassionate, where care and tenderness in treatment is evident in your pets behavior. I am hear to tell you, I would and did pay anything to give my pets the best life. I didn’t care about a fancy store front or mission statement. I only care about how my dogs responded to an environment where service was obtained. The best services I’ve ever used came with a simple package, where Value was witnessed in their ethics and service. This is the only Groomer I would use if you can not find one your pet is happy with. By the way, I know people that feel like they don’t have to tip or they’re always asking people for discounts. Unaware that they would not want someone to do this to them. We can Demonstrate gratitude and appreciation in others services ‘ and through tipping and saying thank you. When we recognize other people’s value, you are recognizing our own value.

Always great service. My dog is beautiful when she comes home. Very fair prices and happy dog when she's picked up. Shows no fear when dropped off so I know she's treated well while in Shelby's care. I always pay to have her teeth brushed too. It's only $5 extra.
