(from Google)Mostly gravel and there was only one other dog. Lots of open space for dogs who like to fetch. Great when raining, no mud.
It's a little tricky to find the first time. I thought it was another maintenance entrance. Parking is on the East/West streets nearby. No one else was there when my dog and I were there. He had fun exploring. I appreciated the benches and shaded canopy.
I really like this dog park because it is super convenient. Right by lake Harriet. The benches are very nice and the provided dog bowls. There is enough room but not too much where you lose your dog. There is always at least one other dog here and typically friendly dogs. Owners here try to be very respectful. I enjoy taking my dog here.
The Lyndale Farmstead dog park is a simple, no frills spot to let your dog run off some energy with other dogs. Parking is on 38th St. E. and it’s a short walk from there to the gates of the dog park. (No parking lot.) It is kept clean by users of the park. There’s no grass. The ground is covered with a sandy substrate. Some small trees and bushes have been planted along the fence. An off-leash dog park permit is required for all Minneapolis Dog Parks ($38/ year as of this post.)
Very small rectangular space filled only with gravel. Not a lot of traffic, so not much socializing for the dog either. It's also basically in the parking lot for the park, which was odd. It's better than nothing, which is why I didn't give it 1 star, though. We probably won't be back.
