Heritage Trail Park

This is a great park with a cross-river bridge newly christened and already beloved by the many hikers, bikers and runners in the area. There are very few non-vehicular bridges crossing the mighty White River in Central Indiana. It connects two parks on each side of the river that had historically been where local Indian tribes and settlers had trading activity. A great old house on the east side and trails withe forest, wetlands and a disc golf on the west side.

You must pay and get a pass for the dog park. However there is a water station and nice loop nearby to walk without pass. Nice playground. No bathrooms.

This is a nice playground..However how could they not have a public bathroom budgeted for a playground designed for young kids and lot of bikers who use the trails.. Also why wouldn’t there be a swing set!! Little kids love swings.. I wonder who are behind the playground development committee

I absolutely love visiting this park today. It has a huge fenced in area for small dogs as well as big dogs too. I stumbled upon Heritage Park by getting away from traffic on 465 that turned into 65 and I went in the directions of going to Chicago. I was trying to find another way home and came across a park. I drove right past it and then turned around and came back to the park and was totally in shock that this was the kind of park that I had been looking for; for my dog to run around at. This particular park requires a permit and I believe that it is paid yearly. We walked around the entire area. They have a small playground for little children to play at and a basketball court for those who want to get there game on. Then there is this walking trail around the park as well. I give this park a five star because it has what I have been looking for.

Small park with a large dog playground and children’s play area. The proximity to the rail trail is nice too! The downsides are that there are no restroom facilities and the park is adjacent to a power station.
