(from Google)Great outdoor restaurant with relaxed beachy vibes. Live music during the week. Great place for friends, family with kids and pets. They serve breakfast-lunch-dinner. Reasonable prices. Tasty dishes. However need more consistency. I had outstanding meals and okay meals of the same kind. But they make it right to your liking. Great customer service! Nice and breeze right on the beach!
If you are anywhere near Pompano Beach and you do not stop at Lucky Fish, you are missing the full experience of what a beach day should feel like. From the moment you arrive, everything just clicks. The location alone is incredible, right by the Fisher Family Pier with ocean views that instantly slow you down and put you in vacation mode. You can literally walk from the pier straight into a laid back, perfectly designed beach bar atmosphere. The food delivers exactly what you hope for and more. The fish and chips were outstanding. Crispy, golden, and fresh with a perfect crunch on the outside and tender, flaky fish inside. The fries were on point, the coleslaw fresh, and the sauces tied everything together perfectly. Simple food done right, which is exactly what you want in a place like this. But what really elevates Lucky Fish is the vibe. This is not just a place to eat. It is a full experience. There was a pelican casually walking the pier like it owned the place, the ocean breeze coming through, and then the live music starts. The live music is what takes it to another level. Not too loud, not overwhelming, just the right energy to bring the entire place together. It creates that perfect balance where you can enjoy great music, have conversations, and feel like you are part of something happening. It feels authentic, not forced, and that is rare. Everything about this place feels natural, easy, and exactly how a beach bar should be. Great food, incredible location, relaxed energy, and live music that completes the experience. This is not just a stop. This is a place you come back to.
Yes, you'll always see a long line in front of it, but that doesn't mean it's a fantastic place. It only has a location advantage. It's on the right at the entrance to Fisher Family Pier. The sea view, live music, and location make it popular. However, in my opinion, it fails in terms of taste and price balance. $15 for a drink in a plastic cup? Is that a joke? There's a difference between drinking a quality drink in a nice bar and drinking a drink in a plastic cup!!! Especially if you're sitting on benches in a sandy park, not by the sea, and paying that much money, it's even worse. The service quality is low. The shrimp dish only had 5 tiny shrimp, but the sauce was tasty. The calamari, thankfully, wasn't greasy. They were also quite small. Don't come here with high expectations for the food, in my opinion. Luckily, we were fortunate enough to sit at a table with a sea view.
On Monday at 5 pm, there was a wait, that's how good this place was. Beach view for most of the place, all outdoor seating. Huge bar with seating, love music at night on a separate stage, three entrances. Two entrances are wheelchair accessible. There is a water tower for cleaning off from the beach, next to a tiki hut with swings. Small bar window at entrance of family pier before the bait shop of you just want drinks to go. Hostess stand off of Ocean blvd, next to music stage. No smoking but dog friendly. Menu has gluten free and vegetarian choices. Remember, it is called Lucky fish, so seafood is the main protein. The mahi-mahi sandwich was amazing with a mango pineapple chutney. If you drink and like rum, I suggest 'The Painkiller'. You won't feel a thing when you are done, the bartender is very talented. I gave a 4 in service due to a few hiccups and what seemed like our server was having a bad day.
The vibe here is fabulous. The staff is very attentive and the food is delicious. Highly recommend the fried oreos and oreo ice cream. The Mahi Mahi tacos had well seasoned blackened Mahi Mahi and a lovely pineapple salsa. The conch fritters had a great flavor. The Island Chicken Salad was good but the corn and salsa combined with strawberries and pineapple threw me off. But it is the place for seafood on the beach with a great view and an island breeze. They have live music and SWINGS!
