​I cannot thank the staff at Bluegrass Veterinary Specialists + Animal Emergency enough for the incredible care and respect they showed during one of the hardest moments of my life. ​My sweet girl, NovaKane, was full of life and zooming around just the day before she passed away with a sudden battle with canine hemangiosarcoma. When it was time to say goodbye, the team here went completely above and beyond. They treated her like royalty, even bringing her a plate of their own food to enjoy. The absolute respect and tenderness they showed my baby in her final moments is something I will never forget. ​Not only were they incredibly sweet and comforting to me during the process, but they were also extremely fast with her cremation. To top it off, I received a beautiful sympathy card signed with well wishes from the staff, which completely made my week. ​They made an incredibly painful grieving process just a bit easier to bear. I am endlessly grateful for their compassion and the beautiful treatment they provided for my NovaKane. Highly, highly recommend them.

I had to bring my dog here after a very stressful day and trying to figure out what was wrong with my dog at her usual vet and a different urgent veterinary place. We ended up needing to leave her overnight. They updated us on how she was doing and thankfully figured out what was going on and how to treat my dog. She’s a skittish pup, but very clearly was treated super well by everyone there. Many thanks to everyone who helped make sure our girl got better. I will definitely come back here if something ever happens again in the future.

Let me just say this place will be the best decision to make for your fur baby and yourself. The staff here was absolutely incredible. They were very attentive of our cat, Romeo. They were very informative and never seemed to be in a rush, as in “Get them in, get them out” like most other places. You can tell they truly care and will treat the animals as their own. My cat had a great experience here, and he seemed to really be fond of the staff there. This is the best place to choose if you need any urgent care, and want the absolute best for your furry friend. They are reasonable in their billing as well! To the staff, thank you very much for making this such as easy going experience for my Romeo and our family. God bless you all, and thank you for loving our cat as your own! He is doing 1000% better today ❤️

What an incredible place. Came in late at night with Kazimierz, our ancient cat who is my “heart cat.” First time in the facility - the front desk is overseen by two lovely and competent women who show care and run a tight ship. The vet tech was like family by the end of the night and the veterinarian who oversaw Kazzy’s care was professional and empathetic. Lots of happy and boisterous providers bustling around in the back. Kazzy was hospitalized and I felt completely comfortable leaving him in the care of these very competent experts.

We took my dog here last night as a recommendation from her primary vet due to him thinking she needed 24/7 monitoring due to a pancreatitis flare up. They were so sweet to her and I truly feel like they helped save her life. There were no surprise costs because the doctor and vet tech explained a rough estimate and everything they thought would need to be done which I really appreciated, and after I paid the deposit the total cost ended up being cheaper than the original estimate. When I walked in to pick her up I could hear the staff engaging with her as if she were their own dogs. She has never been away from me for an extended period of time and they kept her as comfortable as possible. I had a horrible experience with an emergency vet in Richmond Kentucky, and even though that PTSD never goes away this place helped me regain some trust in emergency vet care. Thank you to all the staff who helped Keke!
