(from Google)walking trails are easy to travel and are quiet and peaceful. Saw birds, a hawk, a couple snakes, and beautiful greenery. I spent 2 hours here and walked 1/2 of the preserve. I'll finish next time. I definitely recommend this place to others.
My husband and I went to this walking trail today for the first time in really enjoyed it. A lot of the information I found online stated that it was a 2.25 mile trail. But we ended up walking 2.87 miles. This place is located in a residential area. Parking is free and there is just a strip of area to pull your car in front of the entrance area. We saw so many people walking their dogs, so this is definitely a pet friendly trail. Please make sure you pick up after your pets! There are no poop bag stations that we saw so make sure you bring your own. there are no restroom facilities, so bring water if you need it. As you walk in the front, you will have different options to turn down to walk a trail. Basically there’s a red trail, yellow trail, and blue trail. There are some other trails that didn’t appear to be color marked that seem to all connect to one of the colored trails. We Decided to stay on the designated colored trails just to see how long the trails are. We did start on the red trail so from the parking area/Front gate back to the front gate was 0.74 miles. We think most of the trails are about that length may be a little longer. It’s a very enjoyable walk through natural Florida, but the colored trails are nicely marked, and the walking area is very distinct. there is a pond in the center of this property, but due to not having much rain the water was very low. We’re currently enjoying very pleasant weather in Florida right now in October surprisingly but we do think this trail might have more bugs during rainy and hot season. Today no bugs and was very pleasant. We always wear bug spray, no matter what when we go on the walking trails. we didn’t see much wildlife other than squirrels and one hawk. If you’re looking for a easy enjoyable walking trail in the Tampa area, this is definitely a place I would choose. We will definitely be back to go down more of the non-colored trails just to explore and rack up more walking miles.
Nice little place, with lots of canopy, to get a couple miles in. I would recommend hiking shoes vice tennis/running shoes due to the sandy trails.
Violet Cury is my family's go-to hiking spot in Tampa. The shade is perfect for hot Florida days, the trails are beautiful, and Flynn Lake is lovely. We've even crossed paths with a few tortoises while hiking, which is always a treat! Make sure you hydrate a few hours before you go, as well as on your hike. If you have a furry friend like we do, bring water and poop bags!
Like most preserves, there is no restroom, but you can visit for free. :-) This beautiful park is tucked away in a residential community along Sinclair Hills Rd. The gate and parking area are on the right as you head west, after turning onto Sinclair Hills from Livingston. There are several trails to hike and there is a map on the bulletin board, as you enter the preserve. The yellow trail sends you through the woods and past a couple of ponds that desperately need water and sends you back to pick up the red trail and connect to the blue trail to walk alongside a lake. It's late May and the wildflowers are in bloom. AND the waterlilies on the lake.
