(from Google)you need a 4x4 for this. definitely but its worth it
Best free public camping in Puerto Rico. Many good spots available along the beach road. Don't expect bathrooms or showers, this is totally off grid. The Playuela camping area is only accessible by high clearance vehicles, but Wilderness Beach is a little easier to drive to from Punta Borinquen. We parked at Wilderness Beach and walked south to find a good campsite.
Amazing gorgeous place full of wonderful palms that stretch across the valley. There didn’t seem to be much sand, so it might not be recommended for kids (at least the beach). Perfect for all kinds of photos! To get in you’ll need a SUV or a 4x4 cause of the dirt roads leading up to it. Other than that, pretty place.
Scenic beaches, definitely worth seeing. Some areas are known to be good for snorkeling right off the beach when the weather permits. We drove for 45 min twice in a week, hoping to be able to do that, but the surf didn't permit. The waves were quite violent, and in fact perfect for surfing. Lots of serfers visit this place, and the parking fills up. Slightly north of Pena Blanca there is a dirt road and a very wide grass field where most of the cars tend to park along the road.
One of the most spectacularly memorable beaches I can ever remember visiting. This place was pristine, the views breathtaking, and the (few) people friendly. We bought octopus and beers from a local vendor and had some of the best times during our trip. The surf here is also insane, with waves hitting in the off season hitting over 12/15 ft (2-3+ meters). If there’s a spot to visit while you’re on this side of the island, it’s this beach and preserve.
