Our cat had blood in the urine and Saratoga Veterinary Hospital squeezed her in to be seen. They were very accommodating and did an excellent job explaining the problem and what the options were. They went out of their way to help us. We highly recommend them

2022 This vet hospital has the most loving and amazing team that is really friendly and truly dedicated to serving pets. Their pricing is transparent and upfront, and is very reasonable. I can't thank them enough for taking such a good care of my cat! ------------------------------------ We had been loyal clients at Saratoga Vet Hospital for over two years. Unfortunately, our experience during a critical time with our beloved cat left us deeply disappointed. 11/2024 When our cat showed unusual behavior during a weekend, such as walking in circles, hesitant steps, vocalizing more, and avoiding his litter box, we brought him to Saratoga Vet Hospital the following Monday. Upon describing the cat’s symptoms to the vet, he immediately suggested that the cat’s symptoms were due to senility or age-related neurological decline and suggested a neurological exam. During the visit, he performed several expensive tests, including x-rays, bloodwork, and a urinalysis, that cost us over a thousand USD and led to the same conclusion: our cat was old. The following morning, after doing some online research ourselves, we thought the cat’s symptoms might be due to his deteriorating vision and not senility, so we took him to an ophthalmologist, who identified that the cat was suffering from hypertensive retinopathy. His blood pressure was critically high, causing retinal detachment and acute blindness. The ophthalmologist explained that retinal detachment caused by hypertension is a common issue in older cats. She emphasized that treatment needed to start within a day or two of detachment to prevent permanent blindness. This raises an important question: if hypertension leading to retinal detachment is a known condition in cats and dogs, why didn’t the vet suggest checking Cecil’s blood pressure during his initial visit? This omission was not due to a lack of equipment. When we inquired about the cost of a blood pressure recheck a month later, the hospital quoted a price of nearly 100 USD. We started him on amlodipine, and miraculously, his retina reattached, and his vision returned in the same week. However, if we had relied solely on the vet’s initial diagnosis and hadn’t followed our intuition and sought a second opinion, our cat likely would have gone permanently blind. This makes the vet’s failure to recognize the urgency particularly concerning. We lost one precious day and over a thousand dollars by taking our cat to this vet. 01/2025 After our cat’s passing, we contacted Saratoga Vet Hospital to return unused food. The response was highly impersonal. Over the phone, we received a brief, “I’m sorry for your loss,” followed by business as usual. When we visited the hospital to process the return the following day, the staff coldly repeated the mechanical phrase: “I’m sorry for your loss,” while processing the refund, showing no genuine care or empathy for our cat. Right after giving me the refund receipt, the staff member went back to their computer without saying a word. I thought they were typing in a report and would at least thank us for choosing their hospital or say goodbye, knowing we wouldn’t be returning anytime soon. The hospital has a tradition of lighting battery-operated candles for deceased pets to honor their memory. Despite our cat being a long-term patient, these candles were unlit. When the staff member saw me turn the candles on, she asked what else I needed. I said nothing. She said: "Bye!" I had intended to express my gratitude for their support for our cat over the past two years, but witnessing such cold behavior, I decided against offering the appreciation that any well-mannered person would typically extend. It was painfully clear that the hospital saw our cat not as a cherished pet but as another transaction.

Thank you Saratoga Vet Hospital. I brought my dog Rudy in with some complications. It turned out his kidney levels were high. The doctor recommended an extensive treatment for three days. This worked! His kidney levels are lowered and Rudy is feeling much better. The staff is always kind and compassionate. This place went above and beyond for Rudy’s care and educated me to watch out for symptoms at home.

I have to say I was down in the Silicon Valley to visit family and my dog had an emergency and they took me in pretty much right away 🙏 I ONLY had to wait about 2 hours but I was very thankful. The Vet doctor, Dr. RoF, came off very stressed type, was a bit abrupt saying I did not know what breed of dog I had (my dog I rescued him) and was a bit short cutting me off in mid sentence 🥴however I decided to just dismiss that because what mattered most was his attention toward my dog at that moment and hopefully my next visit with him will be better but all in all they (office /Receptionist staff are AWESOME tku girls & Jessica 💗 for personal attention) did well for my dog and that is what is most important. The Doc seemed less stressed later & settled down some...so, it was then, I decided to keep him and use Saratoga veterinary hospital as my veterinarian for my precious awesome DOG 🐶, Roooger, when I come to Silicon Valley. You know, it REALLY is the little things that mean the most to people. Going the extra minute to say hi to your dog or getting a panting dog water... Giving a smile and saying "it's going to be ok" to an anxious or sad momma~ TREAT PEOPLE LIKE PEOPLE. So far my only contact has been a single phone call to Saratoga Vet Clinic. It was a great experience. All my questions were answered politely & with confidence I believe by Jennifer (not 100%, I sometimes forget names). I was able to obtain a new patient/welcome to the practice appt. within 2 weeks (could have been earlier but I was unavailable). I’m switching from another practice with less than stellar service so I was so happy to be “heard” when I spoke about my pups health condition. I am looking forward to more quality service for many years to come since she is only 2y/o. Update: Sept. 2023 We have now returned for my pup’s teeth cleaning which went very well. Dr. Carpio & his team took extra good care of my girl. Dr. Carpio even came out at pick up time & showed me the best way step by step to acclimate her to daily brushing. Esp since she is so anxious. Everyone in the office is extremely caring & efficient. Also we returned for a health certificate to travel abroad last week. That appt. also went very smoothly. Ana & Jenny & Dr. Carpio were awesome. They all have a quite a personal touch & clearly care deeply about all the furrbabies that come into the clinic as well as those with issues over the phone as well. I cannot express how much I appreciate Saratoga Vet Clinic for everything they have done for my pup so far in the short time we have been going there. I highly recommend Dr. Carpio & staff.
