Tampa Bay Cichlids

Can't leave ZERO STARS or I would have. Paid $163.95 on 9/28/25 for five cichlids. Seller agreed to hold shipment for a few days as my wife was in the hospital and I wanted to be sure I could be home when the fish arrived. He never did ship or respond to repeated calls and emails from me asking him to simply cancel the transaction and refund my money. He never did. It's now been a month. No fish, no refund. He's a fraud. He has a pretty website, but I really should have checked him out before I ordered. Save your time and $$ and shop elsewhere. I've now filed a complaint with the state. If you've been defrauded, you should too.

I purchased 7 fish from David. 1 arrived dead and the other 6 are fine. I emailed and called him several times to get details on getting a new fish shipped to me. He does not answer his emails or returns my calls. I any very disappointed with his customer service. All I want is for him to follow his policy and send me a new fish. Don't buy from this guy.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS GUY!!!! I received 3 DOA fish. Followed his DOA policy. Sent countless emails, calls, voicemails, messages via the site. No reply whatsoever. I got ripped off big time.

Reading the recent reviews after placing my order gave me pause, but I am happy to say I received all 18 of my fish alive and well, great looking too. As far as sexing, I bought 4 species at a ratio of about 2M to 3F, accounting for the fact that sexing at the size of 1-2 inches is difficult. As the fish grow, I will order each sex individually according to my needs. I ordered on Thursday April third, my order shipped the following Monday, and I received my order Thursday April 10. My fish were in the mail for 3 days from Florida to Massachusetts, with no losses. Incredible packing. BE SURE TO KNOW HOW TO ACCLIMATE FISH RECEIVED THROUGH SHIPPING. I am more than happy with my order from Tampa Bay Cichlids, and regarding its recent reviews, It seems to me that the human beings behind the operation have gone through a difficult period, and that understandably can affect business. It looks like they are bouncing back strong, as I was in contact with another customer that had 12 fish shipped to Puerto Rico with no problem at all. Thank You David!

I’ve ordered twice from TBC and both times had positive experiences. My second order was missing a fish and had one DOA which David had replacements set to ship the following week. No complaints. The stock I’ve received are beautiful, healthy fish! Coming up on 9 months since my order and I wanted to add a few pictures of the Lake Victorians they sent me. They're doing really well!
