K9 Obedience Training

When it comes to dog training, I cannot recommend Larry at K9 Obedience Training enough! He has worked with both of my dogs now, and I honestly don't know how I could have done it without him. My Catahoula Leopard Dog / Coonhound mix, Star, came from a rescue and was extremely fearful around anyone and anything. On top of that, she was stubborn and only wanted to listen to herself! But Larry is a miracle worker. After just the first session, Star warmed right up to him and was actually excited to go back each week. Larry’s ability to create on-the-fly lesson plans blew me away. It really shows his vast experience and how quickly he can pick up on exactly what a dog needs in the moment. Star just graduated from his puppy school, and she is a completely different dog! She is so much more comfortable around both people and other animals now. Thank you, Larry!

We just finished our basic obedience training with Larry. I cannot begin to tell you what a difference this training has made in our dog Luna. Before we brought her to Larry, she was a bundle of freshness, constantly counter surfing, pulling at her leash when walking, jumping on people when they walk through the doors. Everything you would expect from a rambunctious untrained puppy. Larry’s style of training worked wonders. He is a no nonsense trainer, who gave us the tools to correct Luna‘s behavior. Luna looked forward to training sessions every week as she ran through the door to see Larry. He is a tough, no nonsense dog trainer, who knows his stuff. His sense of humor made class time very enjoyable. I would highly recommend him!!

Our puppy Duke recently graduated the basic obedience course with Larry and we couldn’t be happier! Larry takes the time to break down each aspect of training and the methods behind the techniques. We recieved a thorough and personalize training for our dog and alternative techniques to try if something didn’t quite work. Larry also provided great guidance in assisting us to mitigate some food aggression issues we were noticing early on. He recognizes that it’s not a one size fits all for every dog and works hard to give unique resolutions to solve any concerns. We would highly recommend Larry for anyone looking for training of any kind! He was fantastic!

We worked with Larry for basic obedience training for our 6-month-old GSP, Goose and honestly—he’s exactly what you want in a trainer. No fluff, no sugarcoating, just real, effective training that actually works. Larry is straight to the point, knows his stuff, and keeps it real the entire time. He’s got a great sense of humor, which makes the process enjoyable, but he doesn’t mess around when it comes to getting results. You can tell he genuinely understands dogs and how to communicate with them in a way that clicks. Goose made huge progress in a short time, and just as important—we learned how to be better, more consistent owners. If you’re looking for someone authentic who will tell it like it is and help you get your dog on track, Larry’s your guy. We will miss our Friday night sessions.

Larry is a wonderful trainer. Very straight forward and thorough. He tailors the training specifically to your dog as each one is different. He was great with my dog and easy to talk to regarding any troubles. Listened to all of my concerns and found alternate routes to solve problems if one way didn’t work. I will recommend Larry to anyone whether you have a new puppy, adopt a dog, or like me, just find a dog. My dog is calmer and more behaved. He gave me things to work on once my dog graduated to keep up on it. Training facility is very nice. My only choice for a trainer is Larry. It’s worth it.
