We've owned dogs for 30 years and this is the first time we've hired a trainer. We adopted a 6 month old Great Pyrenees and I knew with her herding instincts, independent attitude and size that we needed little extra help to make sure that she grows into a well behaved family member. We hired Valerie for training and it's made such a difference in just 3 weeks. Our dog is much calmer on walks, is learning boundaries, and we understand what we need to do to help her moving forward. Valerie is also a fantastic person, a real pleasure to get to know her. I highly recommend Valerie for training and pet sitting.

Incredibly happy with the boarding and training services provided by Valerie at Woof Happens. Valerie trained and boarded my dog, Bird, over 3 weeks. Bird is a small 15 lb dog and I initially worried that training would change her personality. I was also worried about negative training tools harming my dog, but those worries were all alleviated by Valerie's care and expertise. She came to my house and did a free initial consult where she talked to me about her training methods and assured me that she used a balanced approach prioritizing positive reinforcement. She listened and asked questions about my dog's temperament and behaviors which she used to customize her training. The best part was that Bird was in a home environment while she was being trained. This meant that my dog played and slept with Valerie, her family, and her dogs. She was not bored all day sitting in a kennel. Valerie sent picture and video updates of her training and showed me how to maintain her new skills at home. Valerie is always responsive and professional which made me feel at ease in leaving my pup with someone I only learned about through the internet. Bird loved seeing Valerie again when we met her for our second training session that was included. She did not show any signs of being scared of Valerie or her place like when we go to the vet which showed that Bird respected and enjoyed her trainer. Her prices were also super reasonable for watching a dog and training it during a 3 week period. She should really charge more. Thank you so much Valerie!

Valerie has been amazing with our Great Dane puppy! He went from an uncontrollable walker to a well behaved gentleman with her training. Very easy to work with and very flexible with our appojntment dates/times. We also had the opportunity to go on vacation and felt completely confident leaving him with her for over a week! She kept us well informed while we were away and we will definitely use her for our future needs and highly recommend you do the same!

We absolutely loved working with Valerie these last few weeks. When we started classes, our pups didn’t know any commands and had no recall, which became scary when one of them got out of the house. Both our Westies have become so much more responsive to commands and now we have the tools to help them better. We were also able to take them to Valerie to get groomed, and she did such a great job! It’s the best groom they’ve ever had!

Valerie worked with my schedule and made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. You can truly tell she cares deeply about the dogs and wants the absolute best for them and their new families.
