John has been amazing training our two rescue dogs, Cosmo and Henry, who came to us with both very different and similar needs. After just a few sessions, we have seen marked improvement in both dogs. John's patience with the dogs, and their 'people' is never ending. We are looking forward to enjoying the improved behavior and will definitely return for more help when we need it. John was incredibly helpful and patient while working with our puppy, Sadie. We were amazed at how some simple, foundational tricks became powerful tools for getting her attention. I reached out to John as a first time dog owner after adopting a reactive dog. When I first contacted him about training, I felt completely overwhelmed. I didn’t fully understand my dog’s behavior, and I honestly just didn’t know what to do. John not only worked with my dog to improve her reactions and build her confidence, but he worked with me too. He taught me how to read her body language, understand why she reacts, and what she needs from me in those moments. Through these sessions, I’ve learned so much! We’ve been able to work through reactions and build her confidence, and because of the progress we’ve made, she can now handle situations and outings that used to be much harder for her. I’m incredibly grateful for John’s patience, support, and knowledge. The progress we’ve made wouldn’t have been possible without him, and I truly can’t recommend him enough!!!

I recently adopted a new dog, Wendy, at the end of October. She is the sweetest dog, but very nervous/anxious with new people so I decided to hire a dog trainer to help with techniques to build her confidence. I found John the Dog Clicker through a google search and decided to try him out based on him being local as well as his positive reviews. And while it’s still going to take time for Wendy to trust and feel comfortable around other people, John really helped with showing me ways to use treats to help train her and how to properly introduce her to humans. We even did a couple of training sessions with his dog since Wendy LOVES other dogs! John has a calming presence and understands dog body language - by the 5th session Wendy was finally taking treats out of his hand! I would highly recommend John the Dog Clicker!

John was knowledgeable, professional and effective in explaining the root of our dog’s leash reactivity and creating a plan to make incremental improvements. His calming demeanor and patience are tremendous assets for all dogs (and humans!) who work with him. We highly recommend The Dog Clicker.
