Poet's Beach

If you enjoy poetry and youngsters... Walk the path at ports Beach and enjoy the wise words of children reflecting on the river.

It's a tiny little beach, but it's lightly frequented, so it's a relatively private place to escape the crowds and hang out. The water could be a cleaner (I mean, it *IS* the Willamette we're talking about here), but it's much better than it used to be. Lots of crows scavenging for "fresh" water clams hopping about on the rock, which are entertaining to watch. Impressive view of the Marquam from below.

Such a cute hidden beach, right next to OHSU and PSU buildings. Very easy to bike to, and plenty of wildlife. The concept is pretty cool, but some of the poetry on the rocks has faded away with erosion and graffiti. Don't be surprised when you can hear traffic! It's right beneath a highway, but it's a nice way to have more natural spaces in an urban setting. It needs more upkeep from the city, but it was a pleasant visit.

We bought our lunch and walked down there to eat. It was a very nice walk and sit down but people don’t pick up after their dogs. That was so annoying that there was poop everywhere

A small riverfront beach under the highway bridge. I'll be honest…because it's hidden behind the bushes and the river doesn't seem that clean, somehow it doesn't seem super appealing to me. The path down to the beach have stones on both sides with children's poetry engraved on them which is super cute, the poems are very lovely.
