Just left the hwy 70S location and, Hannah, the wonderful woman at the register saw the items we were purchasing and not only empathized with our situation with our aging senior, but also saved us some money on the products we were getting and had recommendations for other products to try that have improved the life of her senior dogs as well. I am in tears for many reasons but mostly out of gratitude for Hannah on a particularly rough day. Hannah, thank you so so much and I hope you see this. Words failed me in person because I hate crying in public, but you were a true light in my day today. Thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I bought 4 guppies from here and they all died quickly. The other fish in my tank from PetSmart are still healthy and showed no signs of illness even when the Petco guppies started dying. The guppies I got from this store didn't eat and would just lay on the bottom. I tried to get a refund less than a week after my purchase but they refused even though I brought the receipt, the dead fish, and original bag. Their website says that they have a 30 day guarantee on fish but I was not able to get a refund. I would not recommend buying fish here.

Amazing customer service, super friendly, and just great people. The lady that helped with the fish was just amazing. I didn't get her name, but her tag said dog trainer. She was older. She engaged our granddaughter and told a few things to help with the new fish. She was so great. Y'all have some of the best people working there, Angel, Brian, and the lady that helped us. Thank you for employing the best people.

It’s an unprofessional and distasteful atmosphere that lacks proper training, intelligence, and basic understanding of how to run a store and ensure the proper care of animals. If you’re bringing your pet here for grooming, vaccines, training, or simply to buy an animal, leave it to the professionals instead. For grooming, get a groomer to do it for you professionally, meaning one that has their OWN business, not an endless and useless chain of petco’s. For vaccines, leave that to your veterinarian. Yes, it may cost more in the moment, but it’ll save you in the long run, they are trained professionals who have probably been born longer than most of the people working here at petco. With great age, comes great experience. In relation to training, there’s endless places that will do a wonderful job for you and may cost you less than they bargain here at petco. Too bad they don’t sell pigs, because all you’d need is lipstick, and voila: the true showcase of their store: Lipstick On a Pig! Sometimes, less IS more. And this place charges more than they actually are worth. Lastly, if you seek to buy your furry new family member here, just go to an actual breeder. Their pets are sick, and usually you discover this once it’s too late. Then when you call and ask, they claim a story better than pinnochio could tell “they never had any diseases.” When your primary vet did all the tests to prove otherwise. This place lacks professionalism and knowledge in their field, and if you truly care for your pet(s), you’re best going elsewhere. The work and knowledge that you’d expect this to place to have is avoided as if the plague. The only “business” they do here is oversell something they’re not.

My dog has never had a worse haircut in his 11 years of life. I have a long haired golden retriever and most (if not all?) people know that you are to scissor trim their chest, neck, and arms, but never shave them. I asked for a minor trim to do some clean up on the overgrowth and they took a razor and just completely shaved all the long hair off everywhere. And even worse it is so uneven and botched I can’t even begin to explain. He is 11 years old and looks like a 6 month old puppy who hasn’t had the chance to grow his hair out. He also smells straight like perfume. I mean an absolutely terrible, CVS brand $2 perfume. It was also $88 which is straight up robbery. I will 100% make sure to take my dog elsewhere in the future. Pictures (first 5 are after groom, last 2 are before for comparison)
