Muir Beach is a hidden gem! Gorgeous, fresh sea air, just what we needed after a day of travel. Fun to watch the sea birds skuttling about. Not far from Muir Woods.

Very nice hike to the beach. Drinks at the Pelican Inn afterward is a pro move. Beach does allow for fires. Go on the weekday if you want to skip the crowd.

Brilliant short drive in to a crystal ocean hug! The parking bus wonderful and the bridge bealk way is so nice. The only downfall respectfully is the restrooms. Their are public restrooms but if you don't need to go pass! Also there is not sink to wash your hands so bring sanitizer. However, the beach the walk the views are worth going and spending the afternoon or sunset journey! The powder puff sand is so delicious on the toes! Bring your dog! Many pups on leash!

From the Muir Beach parking lot to the shoreline, there are several hiking trails to choose from. Depending on which path you take, you might end up on a high hill, down in a valley, along the foothills, or at the beach. The trails are well-maintained and not dangerous, with benches along the way where you can sit and rest. While many people head to the beach, others come to enjoy hiking or biking in the area.

Muir Beach is a nice little beach where one can go to enjoy some spare time. The sides of the beach are rocky, so you have to be careful when you are near the rocks. The sand is very fine for my liking though. There is a trail near the beach which takes one on top of a small hill where the views of the Pacific Ocean are stunning. We saw people with surfboards and some were kite-surfing. The parking lot is big. It's about 0.2 miles from the beach. The lot gets full and one might have to wait for a spot on weekends. Lovely little beach overall.
