Terrible customer service. I was in the store wanting to purchase some fish. The associate was helping another customer who had a long list. I went to ask if someone else can help me and was told that I’ll have to come back tomorrow as the store is closing. I drove in from b’ville. I wanted to purchase several fishes that the Rogers store didn’t have.

The cashier had much more knowledge of each animal in his care. He gave me so much more knowledge of my pet that I had previously purchased. Now I have a better understanding of my pet and can also enjoy the interaction of this pet due to the schooling I obtained from this one visit.

So I went in last week to buy a gecko for a birthday present for my niece. The person who helped me was so incredibly rude and absolutely tried to not sell me the gecko I wanted. The employee was put out that I didn’t want the sickly albino gecko that she attempted to pawn on me and got mad that I asked for the bigger healthier one. Like the sales person tried to push a sick gecko on me. There was a very clear difference in the one I ended up purchasing and the sick one. All geckos were supposedly the same age. One was 3 times the size of the sick one. I asked for the bigger healthier one and the sales associate rolled their eyes and asked me if I’ve ever owned a gecko before. They made me sign a contract saying once I take the animal they aren’t responsible knowing full well the lazy worker was pushing the sick one on me. A lizard was dead in the cage two days before when I visited. The workers attitude and lack of professionalism was very frustrating. Her body language was unacceptable, her attitude was unacceptable, her confrontational way of speaking to me was unacceptable and her laziness was unwarranted. Her job is literally to get the animal out of the cage and sell it.. whichever animal I want. Just because I didn’t let her con me into getting a sick lizard doesn’t mean she has the right to ask me if I’ve ever owned one before. My personal info is none of her business! My lizard experience is NONE of her business. She’s there to work.. I don’t remember asking for her advice on anything and frankly she’s bad for business… petco your employee is in the wrong business and lacks all customer service skills necessary for the job. Shes the one that has two lip piercings on her upper lip and a bad attitude to match.

I love the employees there they are always helpful. This has been my store that i go to from food to grooming to advice. To even helping find pets there forever homes. If they don't have what i need they try to help find it for me even if its at a different franchise. I always tell them no bc this is my store ill wait. And ill buy something else till y'all have it. Always greeted with a smile. If im short on cash sometimes they help with live food that's about to be waisted. So my beardie has enough for the week. Y'all have the best customer service. Which you might be higher in price on some things buy the service out weighs that. Thank you for being at least a 9 out of 10.
