(from Google)I love Goldwater! I’m super bummed that I moved, so I’m not as close anymore, but whenever I’m in the area or just craving a great beer, I always make my way back to one of my favorite spots. The place is clean, dog-friendly, and has an awesome vibe. John, Tim, and Jimmy always deliver top-tier service and great conversation. If you’re new to the area or just looking for somewhere new to check out, I definitely recommend stopping by Goldwater in Tempe. P.S. They don’t serve food, but there are tons of nearby spots where you can grab takeout and enjoy it with your drink at Goldwater!
They don't have a kitchen from which to serve their own food. However, they do partner with a variety of food trucks. Last night was Randizzle Burgers and Tacos. Excellent burger - super tasty! The beer and cider collection is fantastic. The staff is friendly and engaging. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun. And it is a dog-friendly establishment!
This is a great place that just hasn't yet been found by the hoards. We love that we can bring in our food (they do not serve food), and our pup, and we go up to the bar when we want another beer instead of being interrupted by a server. A great place to come in with a group to watch a game, or to play games and just hang out. They have a good selection of beer and ciders. Never ever a feeling of being rushed to leave. I am not a fan of typical bar food, so for us, to be able to order from Perfect Pear (right across the parking lot) and bring it in is great. There are other placed right there for food, too. I just don't know them. High tops, low tops and a couch and chairs area. My only issue at all is that like so many places these days....they lean toward that lack of acoustics to soften the noise. Apparently to make it feel livelier. I prefer the noise to be softened. But, few places do that anymore. Funny thing...most people I know will say "I wish places would remember we are there to talk, not to dance and yell to be heard." It isn't as bad as some places, though.
Good beer, no real food to speak of besides maybe some popcorn. The beer is quality and they have some staples you can always get like Hop Chowda, which gives Church Music a run for its money. My other favorite is Legendary which is a milk stout but that one isn't always available. They rotate and only make certain beers occasionally. If you catch when they make the Double Hop Chowda, get it. You won't be disappointed. They sell cans of beer in a cooler that are also discounted during happy hour. Beer prices are about $8 dollars a pint, $6 on happy hour. Happy hour is from open till 5pm Monday to Friday. They will let you sample beer or order 5 and 10 ounce beers as well. You can take a crowler to go but it's usually cheaper to get the cans. I think they fill growlers but I'm not sure. They are not usually super busy but today it was packed for Friday Happy Hour.
Welcome to the hood! Love Goldwater beers. Their brews are fun and unique. They have a great variety of beers on tap and their to go brews, have other local breweries, which I love. It’s a Big space that, as a tap room, looks perfect. Can’t wait to see it pick up and fill out! It did seem pretty basic with furniture and deco, which, is totally fine, to me it just didn’t feel unique. Will definitely be a return costumer as it’s close and delicious! Gotta go if you can!
