Lake Forest Sports Park: Glass Creek Overlook

I'm genuinely disappointed by how poorly the staff handled a safety issue today at the Lake Forest Recreation Park. While walking my dog, I saw a man flying a drone over the park and filming men, women & children. City ordinance ($13.04.260) makes it clear that drones aren't allowed in parks without permission. I immediately went to the Recreation Center front desk and reported it. The employee said they would "go check it out," but no one ever did After seeing the same man still flying the drone, I ended up speaking to him myself and recorded video of the incident. When I called the front desk again to ask where to send the footage so staff could identify the person, the employee became defensive and dismissive instead of taking action or escalating it. This employee is a white male, overweight build, buzzed haircut. It's alarming that employees working at a City facility don't appear to know or enforce basic park regulations - or show any concern for public safety and privacy. I've already reported this to City management and Police Services so it's documented, community members deserve staff who take these matters seriously. I truly hope the City provides better

Absolutely fantastic park. Grateful that it is safe, family oriented, lots of fun sports going on. Great place all around.

Great view especially for a man-made place. You do feel like you're outside of the city even though it's literally right there just like in Nacho Libre if you remember that scene. Now you have to go look for that scene.

This is a beautiful park that is very well maintained. Last night my friend and I went to a free movie in the park. We had a fantastic time. I really hope they have another movie night soon. The community center has a bathroom inside that is open during most of the day and the facilities, inside and outside, are kept clean. This is one of the best parks in all of Orange County.
