Dr. Berka is exceptional. She is a fast thinker, knowledgeable, and caring. My dog is not young and had to go through 3 surgeries, which was very scary for us. Thanks to Dr. Berka’s skill and attentive care, my dog recovered well and fast every single time. I am beyond grateful for her work and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a vet they can truly trust. That’s a picture of our little Lola after 1 week of a bladder stones removal :)

The best veterinary office I've ever been to. I have taken all my dogs there over the years. With their care and attentiveness my dogs all lived to a very old age. My last passed over a year ago, and they were so kind. I'm crying thinking about it. My family and I will be customers for life.

Dr. Burka and her team were fantastic and very compassionate when we came in with our labrador retriever having a medical emergency. They rushed us right in, got him sedated and helped us through a very difficult time. Very thankful for how they took care of us.

TL;DR: I was charged over $400 for a five-minute exam where Dr. Berka completely missed a large open wound on my 8-lb Chihuahua that later required metal staples. The care felt rushed, overpriced, and not thorough. I would not trust this clinic in an emergency. I brought my 8-pound Chihuahua to Happy Tails after she was attacked by a loose German Shepherd. I was terrified and rushed her in for emergency care. They took her back quickly, which I appreciated, but the physical exam was extremely brief — probably less than five minutes. The veterinarian and staff only looked at the cuts that were immediately visible, said she was “good,” gave her a shot and antibiotics, and charged me over $400. I was overwhelmed by the situation and trusted that they had actually examined her. They didn’t. After I paid and left, I discovered a large open wound on her back — serious enough that it required metal staples to close. My dog is short-haired with almost no underside fur. Nothing was hidden. The wound was obvious. It was horrifying to realize that my tiny dog had a deep, painful injury that nobody at the hospital had even bothered to look for. If anyone had taken even a moment to check her entire body, they would have seen it immediately. What upset me most was that they acted like her visit was complete, even though such an obvious and serious injury was completely missed. When I brought her back and pointed out the wound myself, there was no apology or acknowledgment that a major oversight had occurred. For the amount I was charged, I expected an actual examination, not a quick glance and a bill. The prices are extremely high for the level of care provided, and the lack of thoroughness made it feel like payment was the priority instead of my dog’s safety. Missing a wound that required multiple staples on an 8-lb dog after a traumatic attack is unacceptable. This is not a hospital I would trust with a pet again. Please be careful bringing your animals here.

Dr.B and her team are knowledgeable and do their best to help their animal clients, with great care. I have ease of mind while they handle my special needs dog. My senior pup seems to agree that Happy Tails Animal Hospital is the best vet, too.
