(from Google)My husband and I were dealing with my own serious illness, so we could not lose the happiest “puppy” in the world, our precious Aussie, Lexi. She’s around nine and SEVO has made her happy and lively again. Both Lexi and I are on the mend and plan to spend the next few years happily together with her Daddy. Thank SEVO doctors and staff for treating Lexi and her caretaker Daddy kindly when they visited, and for giving us back our happy Aussie!
Terrible experience! Stay away! Extremely disappointed in the overall experience with Southeast Veterinary Oncology (both this location on Beach Blvd and the location in Orange Park), as our cat was seen at both locations. Our cat had a tumor and they strongly recommended chemotherapy instead of surgery. We agreed to that plan, but only after they specifically told us that the medicine & dosage would be administered slowly in order to minimize side effects and not degrade the cats overall quality of life, as the treatment takes about 12 weeks or so. After the second week of treatment, our cat could not stop vomiting and having constant diarrhea, and then our cat became so sick that she went 4 days without eating and had to be taken to the emergency animal hospital for treatment. How on earth does that kind of treatment plan help maintain quality of life for your cat??? Our beautiful cat (Cookie) died yesterday at the hospital. She was 12 years old and will be truly missed by everyone.
My elderly dog was diagnosed with lymphoma last year. They have given us 7 more months with my boy, and I am so grateful for the team here. They have been nothing but wonderful with him and with us. Dr. Neumann has been great with communicating with us every step of the way. We can’t recommend them enough. Thank you all!
Dr Walls was very knowledgeable, & more importantly, compassionate about her patients. Her & the team at the Orange Park office truly made facing my🐶best buds cancer as easy as could be, for something so hard. They WERE the silver lining! I loved my sweet girl Lily, she slept in the bed with me all 8 yrs of her short life, she went everywhere I could take her, & some places I ‘couldn’t’. This cancer diagnosis was about a year ago. The toughest decision I’ve ever made, was not taking the chemo treatment route. Quality>Quantity. I didn’t have the heart to prolong her life, knowing it would only get worse for her. Dr Walls was supportive of our decision, & helped any way she could. She always responded to my inquiries very timely. She prescribed her medicine to slow the cancer, that Lily’s body rejected. So we got her on medication to ease her pain. That made such a difference! That put my heart at ease after seeing the pain in her eyes. She had got to where she wouldn’t move, but with medicine for pain, she got up on her own to relieve herself, eat, & lounge around the house. Instead of only occasional, I cooked all of her food fresh, adding turkey tail mushroom supplements & turmeric. I saw an improvement in her quality of life with that combination. Lily was a blue staffy, pit bull breeds are known for skin allergies & she was no exception. The local vet prescribed her Apoquel years prior. Which I learned from research after the diagnosis, counteracts what a dog’s body naturally produces to block cancer causing cysts. Thus causing the cancer - **DO NOT ACCEPT APOQUEL AS MEDICATION FOR ANY REASON** I don’t recall us discussing the food I fed her, though I can’t confirm 100% because like I said, Dr Walls was very knowledgeable. Oddly enough, when I took my 13 month old full blooded rottie in for a suspected UTI last week, I learned that what I had fed Lily, Blue Buffalo, has been linked to urinary tract problems in dogs!! **DO NOT FEED YOUR DOGS BLUE BUFFALO** So, short story long, I would 100% go here again, & have recommended. I know without a doubt SEVOMED will have the most accurate & reliable information.
When we found out our girl Dixie had cancer it broke our heart. We were referred to SEVO for treatment. I am so greatful we decided to make that first appointment. From the moment we walked in the door we felt like family. From the AMAZING girls at the front desk saying “Hi Dixie’s mom!” and showering my baby with love and kisses - To the EXTRAORDINARY nurse that was always willing to listen to my ridiculous concerns and explaining things multiple times to me in the kindest voice - and then there’s Dr. Newman. His confidence and determination to give me quality time with my Dixie is something that I will never forget. He never gave up on her. Dr Newman was always truthful with me about her condition and as unfortunate as her diagnosis was- he gave my baby a full year to play on the beach- eat countless Wawa sandwiches- bark at the squirrels- and steal my pillow at night! I hate cancer. I hate what it has taken from me. But I am so thankful for Dr Newman and his angels!
