(from Google)I had a very disappointing experience today at the Kernan/Atlantic Petco grooming salon. We had a 3:30 PM appointment for our 5-month-old Shih Tzu puppy, Harper, for a bath and puppy nail trim. We live about 45 minutes away, so we drove a long distance specifically for this appointment because our puppy’s nails had grown too long and he needed a trim. When we arrived, a supervisor told us that the groomer (Jenny T.) was behind schedule and could not take our appointment. What was extremely frustrating is that no one called us beforehand to let us know they were running behind or to offer to reschedule. A simple courtesy call would have saved us a long drive, time, and gas. Instead, after arriving, we were told our puppy had some matting and that we would need to take him to a vet to have it removed because they were not comfortable bathing him or even trimming his nails. I understand safety policies, but the situation was handled very poorly. When I expressed frustration about driving 45 minutes only to be turned away with no notice, the supervisor responded with a rude and unnecessary comment: “I’m not sure how you do things at your job, but that’s not what we do here.” This was completely unprofessional and dismissive. Rather than offering solutions or showing empathy, I was simply told her boss Lance would be there at 7 AM the next morning if I wanted to speak with him. Because of how poorly this was handled, I canceled my VitalCare Puppy membership and all future grooming appointments. After this experience, I will not be returning to this location for grooming services. This could have easily been avoided with basic communication and professional customer service. Instead, we were treated dismissively after driving nearly an hour with a young puppy who genuinely needed care. Very disappointed.
Imani was so rude and rough with my dog. I’ve never had a bad experience with grooming until today. I had to pick up my dog because he had diarrhea from the stress she put him under. I picked him up and his eyes eye also red from the man handling. My dog is so sweet and gentle to EVERYONE. This lady DOESN’T know how to treat animals and clearly doesn’t enjoy her job. Truly disappointing petco would allow these types of employees to work there ESPECIALLY Handle pets. Worst experience ever.
Good selection of products for both cats and dogs, and as expected, pets are welcome inside, which is always a plus. They also offer an in-house veterinary clinic and a pet grooming service, making it a convenient one-stop shop for pet care. In addition, you can purchase smaller pets such as hamsters, birds, and fish. The main downside is that many of their products are significantly overpriced for what you get.
Very unsympathetic grooming salon, I had to cancel a few appointments due to personal matters and they blocked me from the system "The groomers get commission and every time you cancel that it's money out of their pocket" Well, that wasn't a problem when I was going to them for a few years, giving them money in their pocket as well as tipping them very generously. The lack of Care or Sympathy to the regular clients is uncalled for. Do not recommend
