If you are a cat owner seeking cat training services, look elsewhere. As you can see, 99.9% of the reviews for this company are from dog owners and now, unfortunately, I know why. They know absolutely nothing about how to train cats. We have been keeping our cats separated because of fighting, so we hired a trainer to come out to our home to help us reintegrate them. Before the trainer came, she asked us to have the cats in their harnesses, even though our cats have had zero harness training and for them to be in separate rooms where they can’t hide from her, which was an odd request. She spent absolutely no time trying to bond with our cats and decided that on the very first day, the cats were ready to be in the same room together. What? They haven’t been in the same room together in months. They are wearing harnesses, which they do not like wearing, there is a stranger in close proximity, and they have been put in the same room together. What could go wrong. Needless to say, everything went wrong. The cats freaked out. They were so stressed. One was trying desperately to hide, but was trapped by the trainer. To top it off, the trainer texted later and thought the cats seemed relaxed when she left. OMG, seriously. It was a terrible experience for the cats and for us. You don’t have to be an animal behavior specialist to know all the things the trainer was doing was wrong. Any pet owner with any common sense would know that. We canceled the rest of the sessions. Lost our $250 deposit and money for the training session. What is more disappointing is the owner of the company, Dr. Savage, never reached out to ask why we canceled the rest of the sessions and never asked about our experience with the trainer. You would think, as the owner, she would want to know what happened.

Shyenne was amazing in our helping our puppy with TV reactivity. She has successfully graduated from the program and we are grateful to Beyond the Dog for working with her! Would highly recommend.

Our saga began with a super sweet but highly reactive dog, Cash, a 6 year old dachshund who is a bit larger than average - 20 lbs. He hid or barked at company, severe avoidance behavior and anxiety, and was difficult to walk anywhere close to people or other dogs. He had managed to pass three conventional dog training group classes over the years, but the trainings completely failed in real world environments. We were moving to a busy urban area in April, where he would need to be in close daily contact with people/dogs, and move from a house with yard to apartment living. Cash needed to be even better than the average dog. We contacted Beyond the Dog in Jan 2026, and they believed they could actually help Cash. We met our trainer Shyenne and she began 1:1 training four days a week - in real world environments. Cash proved to be a difficult case and was off to a slow start, no surprise. But within the first few weeks we started to see a change, a much calmer version. Over the next three and a half months Cash improved to the point he was calm and friendly with people who came over including my parents - who could not believe the difference in Cash. He could be walked in active environments with people, dogs, and especially children (previous deep fear of children/strollers). Outdoors and indoors (thanks Ross Dress for Less). May follow up report: we have moved and Cash has successfully made the transition, virtually zero barking at noises in apartment living, riding elevators, walking and sitting at cafes. We are taking him on longer walks over time, and utilizing the training and tools Shyenne taught us as he further acclimates to his new environment. We can’t thank Shyenne and Beyond the Dog enough for the incredible ‘life changing’ improvement in Cash (and his sibling Pimm) that has allowed us to enjoy our new urban environment!! 10/10 highly recommended! .

Shyenne was assigned to help with specialized behavioral training for my dog Tobi. Tobi was having some challenges adjusting to his new human baby sister after being an only child for so many years, but Shyenne guided us through a curriculum that resulted in not just a much improved relationship between the two of them, but a much more settled Tobi. She was amazing in coming up with a tailored program to address all our concerns and adjusted to Tobi's progress as we went along. Couldn't have asked for a better outcome!

We can’t say enough great things about Abby! When we first started working with her, our dog Theia was extremely aggressive and hyper-focused on our newborn, and we were honestly thinking we would have to rehome her. Abby completely turned things around for us. Not only did she help Theia become calm, safe, and manageable around our baby, but she also taught her to listen and respond so much better overall. The transformation has been incredible, and our whole household is happier and more at ease because of it. On top of that, the training process was actually enjoyable for us and for Theia! Abby is patient, knowledgeable, and truly cares about both the dogs and their families. We’re so grateful we found her. Highly recommend!
