(from Google)I love old man River! It has so much charm and ive been going there since I was little! One of my favorite food is clams and I love to get them from there! I think it is a very cute place and it is a fun place to hangout with family and friends! The only complaint I have is the BBQ brisket and the other meat I got was extremely dry and had a very very strong smoky taste which I did not like I was not able to finish it. There are also a lot of bees which is understandable due to people having soda and food so im assuming this would be hard to control. Overall this is an amazing place and I love walking to the park across the street after I eat there.
We love coming to Old Man River! It's such a fun restaurant in a great location on the river. They have a good-sized menu here. The food is very good! You can customize whatever you order, which is really convenient. Great burgers and hot dogs. However, their sweet potato fries are game-changing! Trust me, they're a must get! The staff is great and so helpful. Come when the weather is nice and sit outside with a view of the river. Or, take it to go and walk the riverfront. Either way, it's a great spot!
Taking a ride down the river and saw the restaurant looking like we were out of state on vacation, we just had to stop! The front view was colorfully awesome with a look of separate clam shacks, ample tables and chairs. Turned the corner to see the open entry to the counter for ordering hot dogs and burgers and such, with a view of an outdoor patio with umbrellas and tables, tall tables, too. Then, around the third corner to see a small parking lot and more street parking available. We entered from that back side, and saw the chef cooking/smoking food. It looked fantastic! Such a friendly guy sharing the memory behind the Mark's Corner sign with feeling. We ended up ordering from the outdoor counter, for dinners with two sides; Two chicken dinners with potato wedges, mac n cheese, and corn bread. The chicken was a type of vinegar bbq and the meat was SO TENDER it literally fell off the bone. It was delicious! The mac n cheese was tender and very creamy with a great cheese flavor. Corn bread was moist and delicious! We also ordered a shrimp dinner with potato wedges. The shrimp was plump and fried to a good crunch on the outside with a tender shrimp inside. As we took our food to the table, they brought us a container with the sauces. There is also ketchup, salt and pepper, available to take to your table. A nice cold beer topped off our meals. Wish we didn't have other plans such that we could stay for the live music. Surely, there will be a next time we look forward to. The bathroom was a little on the small side and I imagine if there is a lot of people, you're going to have a wait. But, at least there's a bathroom, sink, soap, and light blowing hand dryer there. It was nice to take a walk across the street to see the river up close, as well. All in all, a great visit and good food, good atmosphere, nice people!
After my gf finally remembered what this place is called, we tried it for the first time. Got there right when it opened so there were no lines. Staff was really nice. Ordered a hot dog, sweet potato fries, and corn on the cob. All were very delicious! Hot dog was grilled perfectly, fries were on point made with just the right amount of crispy, and the corn was yummy! Would recommend!
What a fun spot to stop and get a bite to eat! Really cool atmosphere with ample seating. Perfect for those biking the trail along the river. A few vegetarian options (including a bunny dog, veggie burger, and impossible burger) and the fries are delicious. 10/10 would recommend.
