(from Google)Learn to swim - learn to dock dive - discover a new past-time for you and your pup! I've been going to Courteous Canine for two years now and they consistently provide STELLAR service. Following up so I got my schedule coordinated with Coach Joe's and then, well, can I just say he is the BEST. He's very encouraging and extremely patient. Coach Joe was completely invested in making sure my puppy had a positive first experience swimming. His experience in the sport of dock diving and getting dogs ready to compete are unparalleled! Not all dogs are born swimmers and with all the water and pools we have around, it's a good idea to make sure your dog knows how to swim!
I took my dog here for a Swimming 101 class. He is a 9 month old puppy and was a bit nervous about the water. He didn't willingly get in the water and I understand that it can take time and lots of patience for them to build up that confidence. The good: the trainer was really nice and helpful! She was willing to give me some tips, and tried her best as much as I did to get my puppy in the pool. Other dogs were jumping in just fine and enjoying themselves. The bad: I expected to be working with my dog for the hour and a half class that was advertised. My dog was near the pool perhaps 20 minutes if I'm being generous, and the rest of the time was spent managing his attention around other dogs in the Florida sun. I'd rather have come out and paid the same amount for a 30 minute focus session, than have done this. It felt frustrating that I took so much time out of my day for so little, when it was advertised as an 90 minute intro for dogs who needed to learn to swim. As the trainer recommended, I'll be buying a cheap kiddie pool for my backyard and be training him there moving forward, to save the commute.
My first class at Courteous Canine, and it will not be my last. I am owned by a Dalmatian, Pongo. We are currently in an intro class for agility. Darlene, our trainer is fantastic. She is knowledgeable, patient, and understanding.
Great establishment that’s been around for awhile. Took our own dog here for the first time for private behavior sessions with Crystal this year, and I can see why it’s been around so long. Crystal’s approach to behavioral training/guidance is so kind and effective, and really helps build trust with your pup. We are looking forward to private agility sessions as well! Biscuit says thank you!
Angelica and the staff of Courteous Canine are so incredible!! The positive energy and science based approach makes this the best place for dog training around. I’ll always recommend Courteous Canine for all of your doggy needs!
