Dog Training by Valerie

Dog Training by Valerie is not just a training center. It’s a campus offering something for dogs at the freshman level all the way to Phd training. Valerie meets each dog and owner at their level and gently guides both to succeed step by step. In talking to others in class, several had taken many classes with Valerie and even said they had taken some classes more than once. This was not because they hadn’t succeeded, but because both dog and owner had enjoyed the class so much. Valerie has a calm, gentle and professional approach. If a dog is having trouble with a certain skill she will take a few moments to personally suggest tips or tactics that will lead to success. I’m working on the Therapy Dog tract with my dog Hannah. I’m not sure if we are ready for this but I’m confident that Valerie will give us both the insight and training that we need.

We took our 9-month old puppy to Valerie for some help with leash reactivity while on walks. The facility was a nice big open space where everything was dog safe/friendly. Valerie gave our dog time to come in and get comfortable at her own pace. She didn’t force interaction with our pup; she let our girl decide when she was ready to say hi. Valerie taught us some great exercises and pattern games to play with our pup. When we got home, the puppy slept for the rest of the day - it is exhausting to learn! We immediately got to work, playing the pattern games and doing the exercises every day. It has only been a week and our teenage dog is now checking in on walks, responding to her name when there is a trigger, and barely getting reactive at all. Valerie is extremely knowledgeable and kind. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for dog training. It was an amazing experience. Valerie and her team are consummate professionals who helped us take a wild, out-of-control nippy puppy and turn him into a member of our family. We have completed two puppy training courses with her, had a private consultation at our home, and have taken him to puppy/dog socialization time on Saturdays. I am really happy with everything I learned and how I have been able to replicate it at home and have better control of our sweet, but energetic dog. I would recommend Valerie to anyone who wants dog training.

Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness, Value Our dachshund Bennet is often anxious and selective around people. From his first puppy meeting Valerie has been his “person” like a soulmate. The kind, caring way she connects to our precious boy almost seems as if they silently communicate. Because of the trust he has developed with Valerie now at 3 years old he is not as anxious around people. Bennet yearns to join the Saturday playgroup just to see Valerie and his canine friends. Valerie is an awesome trainer, has expert understanding of canine behavior, is true professional and amazing resource. I can't recommend her highly enough!!

Valerie is a wonderful person and trainer. We think she speaks “Dog“. The puppy she helped us train is now four years old. Everyone now loves his sweet nature… Trust me when I say he did not always present as so sweet!..Now he yearns to see Valerie every other Saturday when he returns to her training center and gathers with his “kindergarten“ friends..
