(from Google)Like all local RV Campgrounds, they are a large parking lot, no shade, no trees and billions of mosquitoes and sticker burrs. You can’t step off your parking pad without stepping in them. The electricity and water work great, the sewer connection is at the end of the site next to all other utilities, so you medically need 20+ feet of sewer hose, the other downside is that it’s a raised sewer connection about the same level as your RV dump port or slightly lower, but because of the distance you have a sewer hose that never empties you have to play poop slinky with it several times to get the hose empty. Another issue I noticed was that there is some kind of air pressure issue as the fluids are trying to exit into the sewer dump hole there is air trying to escape upward causing a backflow, I had to readjust my fussing on the sewer dump hole to allow for some air to exit otherwise it stopped flowing, on top of playing poop slinky it was an exhausting process, and being I am here for 2 weeks I will have to do this again before I leave. Give yourself plenty of time to do this. Aside from this the sites are level and large. A short walk to the beach. We are here the first 2 weeks in June and it was warm, muggy and salty sticky on everything. Inland camp sites don’t seem to get as poor of weather, glad there is a large sand dune between us and the beach is slows down the wind a bit. Staff is friendly and helpful. Hopefully your site is mowed before arriving because if they mowed it while you are there there will be a bunch of stickers on everything. They do have 2 washers and dryers at 1.75 and 1.50 respectively!
Love this place... we drove our golf cart in a few times a day to dolphin and ship watch.
Campground is perfect to watch the ships from. Very clean, sites are long, both pull through and back ins. Wonderful viewing tower to see the ships and pelicans up close!
We love love love this RV park! We stumbled across this park when we were staying at Mustang Island State Park last fall- we wanted to come back and stay here and we’re glad we did. We submitted a reservation request online and didn’t hear back after a couple of days I called and left a message- within minutes I had an email confirmation of my reservation. I called back and made a few updates to dates and the staff member very helpful and encouraged me to call back as often as needed to extend our stay as availability is constantly changing. This park abuts the beach- we can hear the roar of the waves day and night and can see ships and boats heading into and out of Port Aransas. Walking district the fishing pier and the jetty and courtside to the Sandfest! Park itself is great. Huge concrete pads, all level and with full hookups. A small laundry room on site - 2 washers and dryers. Coin op with no change machine. I had quarters so I am not sure if they can make change in the office or not. The view while waiting for laundry is amazing with a little deck and chairs. Walking or beach cart distance to restaurants and the cute town of Port A. Very close to the college marine campus featuring a nature walk and a boardwalk and nature viewing area is under construction adjacent to the park. It’s quiet and people are friendly but not too friendly - we’re all just out here enjoying the beach in our different ways. Lots of fishing opportunities and of course swimming and boogie boarding. The outdoor beach showers have been closed due to water restrictions here but we have our own outdoor shower so it has not been an issue. Can’t wait to book a full month here this fall.
This was an awesome park to visit while passing through the area. It was clean and well taken care of. It was fun for the kids and for us. I recommend going there and spending a few hours with the family.
