Heidi has been instrumental in helping us with our rescued mini poodle, Petti. He had suffered trauma and Heidi helped him (and us) adjust. She explained his behaviors, how to respond, and brainstormed with us on some unique problems. Heidi provided a written report from each session that I still refer to and is always responsive. She is a true professional.

We had an excellent experience working with Heidi. Before training, our dog constantly pulled on the leash and showed aggressive behavior toward other dogs, which made walks stressful and unpredictable. After just a few sessions, we began to see real improvement. Heidi was patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly skilled at explaining not just what to do, but why it works. The techniques were practical and easy to follow, and they focused on building trust and clear communication rather than using harsh methods. Now our walks are calm and enjoyable. The leash pulling has dramatically decreased, and our dog is much more controlled and manageable around other dogs. The transformation has made a huge difference in our daily life. I highly recommend HeidiPaws to anyone struggling with leash pulling or reactivity. The results speak for themselves.

Hi Heidi, We just wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you for the wonderful training experience you provided for Lola. Working with an 18-month-old Malinois isn’t for the faint of heart, and the way you approached her with such kindness, patience, and empathy truly stood out to us. Your knowledge, skill, and natural ability with dogs is honestly amazing. We were especially impressed by the variety in your training methods and how thoughtfully you tailored each session to Lola’s needs. It was clear from the start that you genuinely understand dogs—not just technically, but emotionally as well—and that made all the difference. We saw real progress in Lola, but just as important, we felt supported and encouraged throughout the entire process. Your calm, confident approach gave us tools we’ll continue to use long after the classes are done. We are extremely pleased with the results and so grateful for the care and dedication you showed to our pup. Thank you again for everything—you’ve made a lasting impact on Lola and on us. Warm regards, Wendy & Andy

Heidi was recommended to me by a coworker to help our families rescue German Shepherd be less reactive to other dogs while on walks. Heidi came over to our home to meet Rex and get to know him and how he behaves and was so kind. Rex has been through a lot and is very distrusting of people but he trusted Heidi right away. We met with Heidi several times at nearby parks over the ensuing months and Rex’s confidence grew each time. Heidi provided us the tools to help Rex feel more confident on his walks and be less reactive to other dogs. I would recommend Heidi to anyone that truly cares about their dog and would like to learn how to improve their bond. Rex is forever grateful to Heidi (not just because of all of the treats).

Heidi was great in training our puppy. She was a great resource and recommended socialization techniques and now his is friendly with all dogs. She was great at training different techniques and tips. One example of training success was- our dog used to bark when we vacuumed and now he ignores the vacuum! Her techniques and tips are very successful! I also loved that she would send review notes of each training session so that we could review and practice.
