Dog Beach at Picnic Island Park

It’s a specific beach just for dogs to play. Our dog loved it. There is an area at the entrance/exit to wash/rinse off your pup.

Looking for the perfect spot to cool down your dog? This is it! A small island vibe with a huge punch of relaxation and fun. Your four-legged friend will absolutely thank you. There are picnic tables available, plus a sweet shady spot behind the trees that’s perfect for a nap. Your fur baby will leave happy and refreshed!

This is a gem within the City of Tampa park system. Are there better parks, probably, but this dog beach is lovely. Ample space for the dogs to run around, nice entrance that is double fenced with water for drinking and to wash down your pets after being done. Not a whole lot of shade, but if you come early enough you can find a spot. Coming during low tide is very fun.

Very nice, big fenced beach BUT wear your shoes because it is very rocky. Lots of benches for humans, very nice big grassy area and has water fountains for both humans and dogs, also two hoses to wash off dogs and feet.

Uploaded some videos and photos from our first visit and I will say I will definitely be coming back with my pup ! I was a bit nervous upon arrival, when I noticed how the shore was rocky and contained a various amount of crabs (so be alert!), but once you’re past the shoreline , the floor is clear enough to walk through and shallow.
