(from Google)The small dog side looks like a place for people with small dogs to socialize. There are chairs and sun shades. The big dog side is not nearly big enough for large dogs. I rarely see anyone on that side. The area used to be nicely maintained with new mulch and obstacles for the dogs to play in and around. Now it is a sand pit with no amenities for the dogs. If you're looking to socialize and you have a small dog - this might be the place for you. Otherwise, skip this park.
It’s a very nice park. I have a big dog and she was roaming around the big area. She was alone as it was hot and I do not blame people for staying home with their fur babies. There were a ton of small dogs out having fun and my baby wanted to go play. We will come back to play again soon.
This is a great dog park! The people who bring their dogs tend to be pretty aware of dog behavior and pay attention to their pets. That means I haven't seen a lot of inappropriate behavior or dog fights. Most of the owners refill the doggie bag dispenser too, which is nice. The seats are covered and most of the park is tree lined so it doesn't get super hot. The city does monthly maintenance so the park is well manicured. I feel pretty comfortable taking my dog here and she always enjoys her visits.
This is a great dog park except for the gang of people who go to the small dog area think they control the area. They will cuss you for just walking by on the sidewalk with your pet. Large dog side is great, everyone gets along.
Bella and I go here almost every day and we love this park. There's a large and small dog park which is nice. Almost every single person I've met has been very friendly, Bella has made a lot of new friends and I've made a couple as well. It's a nice place to wind down after work and just spit some game with the people who live in or near Gulfport. It's almost ALL grass, has a covering for shade and rain protection, and it's right next to a playground for the kiddos if you have any, right near the tennis courts, and is regularly maintained the first couple days of every month (Monday and Tuesday). It's such a close-knit and chilled out group of people that anyone who is scared or uptight about letting their dogs meet other dogs is washed right out. They usually leave and never return which is good because we dont want those types of people making us and our loved furry animals stressed out or angry😎
