I had to bring a dog I’m dog sitting, Wally, into Veterinary Emergency Group in Edgewater today, and I truly cannot say enough good things about the experience. From the moment we walked in, the entire team was incredibly kind, calm, and attentive. They immediately took Wally seriously, explained everything clearly, and made what could have been a really stressful situation feel so much more manageable. Every single person we interacted with was compassionate, professional, and genuinely cared about making sure Wally was okay. One thing that stood out so much was how transparent they were about what they were doing and why, and how they kept me involved and informed the whole time. You can tell this team really loves animals and takes pride in the care they provide. Emergency vet visits are never fun, but if you ever find yourself needing one, I would wholeheartedly recommend Veterinary Emergency Group in Edgewater. Wally and I are incredibly grateful for the care and kindness we received tonight. Thank you to the entire team for going above and beyond.

I am so incredibly grateful to VEG Edgewater. My dog went into GDV/bloat and was in very bad shape when we arrived. It was one of the scariest moments of my life, but the doctors, nurses, and entire staff moved quickly to stabilize him and clearly explained every option along the way. He had to stay for over 24 hours after surgery, and the level of care he received was outstanding. The team was professional, calm, and genuinely compassionate the entire time. Being able to stay with my dog throughout the process meant everything to me. Watching the staff work, I gained so much respect for their skill and dedication, they truly know what they’re doing. Thanks to VEG, my dog survived something that could have been fatal. I hope we never face another emergency, but if we do, I would go back to VEG Edgewater without hesitation.

So incredibly grateful for the staff at VEG Edgewater! We had a very scary weekend helping our pup recover after ingesting rat poisoning and the staff here was incredibly comforting throughout the process. We loved the open concept of this vet, which allowed us access to see Cheerio whenever we wanted. If we wanted to camp out all night, we could’ve! They were happy to answer all of our questions and really made us feel comfortable with the care strategy for Cheerio. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Big shout out to all the staff at VEG. They were extremely professional and comforting after Jackson was brought in after a medical scare. They diagnosed and got him into surgery within 24 hours. ERs are never a fun place to be, but their unique open concept floor plan allows you to stay with your pet throughout most of the process and understand exactly what is going on instead of sitting in a waiting room stressing out. A million thanks to the staff at VEG!

Nobody wants to have to go to an emergency vet but if you have to go this is the place. VEG Edgewater is very professional and staffed with the most caring, empathetic and compassionate people you could want to meet. Our little dog jumped off my lap and immediately stopped putting any weight on her front left leg. I was worried that she may have broken it as she continued to avoid using the leg and limped awkwardly if she had to move at all. Of course it was late and our regular vet was not open. I had passed VEG Edgewater frequently when running errands so I scooped up our dog and rushed her there without calling. We were met at the door and quickly ushered into the main treatment area where her history and problem was recorded. I was impressed with VEG’s policy of allowing owners (pet parents) to stay with their babies in an open and friendly environment. You could see first hand what would normally be going on behind the scenes. Everyone was focused on their respective tasks and communicating with parents each step of the way. Keep in mind that they operate the same way a hospital emergency department does. Patients are triaged and addressed based on the severity of the problem. That means you might wait a while for treatment but, as a very wise doctor (Dr. Beck) said, “you don’t want to be at the front of the line. That means you have the worst problem.” The overall approach and working environment at VEG Edgewater is comforting and effective. Stress and anxiety for both patients and parents is reduced with their process. Hopefully you don’t need an emergency vet but if you do go here.
