(from Google)Really cool park with lots of space to walk and dedicated ball fields and playgrounds. A family of prairie dogs also inhabits the park and are a fun attraction to visit.
Very nice park in Abilene with a big walking trail and it’s right next to the YMCA. It has a playground and free mini water park for the kids. I don’t recommend staying after sunset since it’s not well illuminated. Once a saw a big all YT male group gathered/huddled up together for what looked like a meeting at this particular park. I honestly didn’t feel safe walking passed this big all YT male group although I was accompanied by a friend who has been living in the immediate area of the park for several years. I can only hope that it was not a hating, neo extremist, or supremacist group meeting. I truly hope that is not the case round these parts because it would be a negative representation of not only of Red Bud park, but the surrounding neighborhoods to include the community, and city as a whole. It’s a nice day time walking park. I always see ppl walking the big trail along the perimeter of the park with family, friends, and pets all the time. It would be great if they had better lighting during the dark hours, though. I’m looking forward to doing more walks at this particular park especially because it’s close to the YMCA. 🇺🇸Love, Light, Peace, Blessings, Community, Safety, Family, Friends No weapon formed against me shall prosper
This is one of my favorite places in Abilene. The playground is a big hit with the kids. I always enjoy visiting the prairie dogs. If you haven’t had a chance to see them, I highly recommend it.
This is a very large park that has lots to do. There's a sidewalk going all around to use. A playground with some exercise equipment by it. A splash pad (#2 in the city). A prairie dog town. The YMCA on the north side of it.
Nice big park with a walk way (or running) around it with a 1.5 or 1 mile option. The outer loop also has fitness stations for those that like that too. Great park for everyone with a playground, a ballpark and several areas for kids sports. Bonus is The Prairie Dog Preserve in one area of the park.
