(from Google)Visited March 2026. Trail is super dry and crunchy. Water is low and mossy. Not the best trail. Also the lower creek green belt location on Google Maps is off the road and there is no car access. Parking at the upper trail is limited - maybe 6-7 cars.
Nice easy walk. Dog friendly. interesting wildlife.
Bull Creek is a beautiful trail just off the Capitol of Texas Highway and offers a nice variety of water and streams for you and any furry friend to cool off in. The trail is very photogenic and has cute moments but beware the trash on the ground which can cause sporadic realizations that you aren’t in the wilderness, but Austin instead. There are a few entry points to the trail so choose wisely but there is one with a parking lot that may provide better selections. Altogether the trail is very fun and allows for great photo ops with pets and family alike, with some even deciding to get in the water (if you do choose to do that be careful cause the rocks are slippery).
Bull creek is a nice area for hiking. Note that is is rugged in some areas and you should have decent footwear. The trails are covered by trees so it keeps the area a little cooler on hot days. While there are many paths, you can hike beside the river most of the way. There are lots of areas to dip your feet, or more, in the water.
Nice urban trail and waterway in NW Austin. Quiet, even though a highway is not too far away. Varied terrain made the hiking more interesting. Lots of live water and signs of wildlife. Others on the trail were friendly. Really nice place to hike and reflect.
