(from Google)I stop by Aquatic Zoo from time to time just to see the animals and visit Fluffy, the legendary cockatoo who has been the soul of this place for two decades. I don’t have the capacity to care for a pet myself, but I love them deeply, and this shop feels like a sanctuary where that love is truly understood. You can tell how much heart goes into every inch of this place. Even on a Friday evening, owner Ken is there quietly, patiently hand feeding two baby tropical birds with a small feeding syringe, making sure they’re nourished and comforted right up until closing time. That level of care says everything about the spirit behind Aquatic Zoo. The staff treat every creature with gentleness and respect. The animals are calm, clean, and clearly cherished. Family owned since 2006, so this isn’t just a store, it’s a crown jewel of compassion and community in TO. Show this place some love, and when you visit, say hi to Fluffy (28 years old now!). He’s still greeting everyone with that brilliant mix of intelligence and heart after all these years. And if you want to make his day even brighter, bring him a little treat. He loves apple slices, papaya, banana, or a small piece of sweet potato, just no seeds. I promise, Fluffy will make your day too. 💛
Aquatic Zoo Tropical Fish is an amazing place for fish lovers. The store has a wide variety of tropical fish, aquariums, and supplies. The staff are knowledgeable and always ready to give advice on fish care. The tanks are clean, and the fish look healthy and active. Prices are fair, and it’s a great spot whether you’re a beginner or an experienced hobbyist.
Please tell the owner to surrender the Cockatoo that he keeps in a cage outside. Even in the direct summer sun with no shade. The cage is too small and that bird is always alone because the owner just leaves it there as a decoration. It deserves to live a life of love and socialization. This is true animal CRUELTY and neglect. It makes me sick to see. Sad that it’s even there in the Google Maps 360 photo :( Just waiting to start actually living.
The staff here is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. They gave me great advice for my aquarium. They had a beautiful selection of fish that all looked happy and healthy. The most impressive part is that they took in large goldfish rescued from a pond. That shows me that this place actually cares about the animals and has good ethical values. Many big chain pet stores only care about selling the animals but don't care about them after. They won't rescue fish.
A friend gave me a small 15 gallon aquarium. It had all but one part. I called and (I'm terrible with names), but a nice young guy answered the phone and I explained to him my story. I had a few gold fish when I was a child. Long story short, I took my little aquarium in, he filled it to make sure no leaks, sold me a nice setup for the inside, and I bought three exotic fish to start with. He suggested I wait a week to acclimate the tank, then add some more. I wanted to set it up that day, I'm spontaneous and didn't want to wait. He sold me 15 gallons of already treated water so I could set it up that day and even let me borrow his jugs for the day. Looking forward to getting more fish this week. Thanks for the outstanding service. (This picture was right after setting up, so a little cloudy, it was crystal clear the following day).
