(from Google)I had one of the most upsetting veterinary experiences of my life at this practice. The male vet entered the room abruptly, which immediately made my dog (who is naturally nervous) start barking and cower next to me. Instead of taking a moment to let her settle or approaching calmly, he immediately said, “I’m getting a muzzle.” I explained that she has never worn a muzzle before and has never bitten anyone — she just barks when she’s anxious. I offered to put the muzzle on her myself since she trusts me. He refused and said he had to do it. When he returned with the muzzle, my dog became even more frightened and hid under my chair. I again said she would likely allow me to put it on since she trusts me. Even the vet assistant gently suggested that I try putting it on her, and he sharply responded “no” to her as well — with no explanation. I expressed that I wasn’t comfortable with him forcing it on her or going under the chair to wrestle her into it. His response was that I would need to reschedule. When I tried to clarify, he stood there staring at me in silence. I finally said, “Well, I guess I’ll reschedule then,” and he responded with “cool” and walked out of the room. The entire interaction felt dismissive, condescending, and unnecessarily aggressive. I understand that safety is important, but there was zero attempt at collaboration, communication, or compassion — not toward me, my dog, or even his own assistant. I had previously seen a female vet at this practice who handled my nervous dog calmly and professionally without issue, so this experience was shocking. I left in tears. No pet owner should feel dismissed when advocating for their scared animal. I will not be returning.
'I' see Dr. Hoffman and she is wonderful! She's not an alarmist and doesn't push unnecessary procedures. The whole staff is wonderful. Carol and Janet have been there for many years and runs the office brilliantly. Maureen and the vet techs are highly. It's a privately owned practice, not a cooperation. I had to move to the Southshore, and I don't hesitate to drive up here. Highly recommend.
I have been going here for 20 years and I absolutely love them. I can’t say enough.
Best vet- so kind, patient and efficient. They are really so kind and compassionate. I switched from another vet and haven’t been happier!
The staff is kind and knowledgeable. The care our dogs have gotten here has been compassionate and thorough. Highly recommend!
