Our dogs have been at Happy Dog for grooming and boarding for about 10 years. Their groomers do the best nail dremeling job and have been extremely compassionate when grooming our dogs post surgery. On this occasion, our cruise ship was stuck at sea an extra day due to high winds. Jake not only kept our dogs an extra night for boarding, but also suggested we have our dogs washed and brushed as one had a belly problem in her bed. He washed both beds and all bedding!!! This went above and beyond our expectations!!! I recommend this business highly.

I highly recommend The Happy Dog Pet Grooming Salon! As a locally-owned small business, the Happy Dog team brings a depth of warmth and caring that we’ve found missing in large chains. For over the 7 years we brought our 2 black labs to Happy Dog for daycare fun, grooming and boarding. Happy Dog quickly became a place I knew I could leave my pups and know they were as loved as they are at home. Sadly, we moved from the Peninsula last summer to Northern Virginia, and had to say good-bye to Happy Dog. We did find local daycare and grooming services, but nothing that could compare. This summer, I just didn’t feel comfortable leaving our pups at our new place for the 10 days we would need for our vacation. Happy Dog is so awesome that I drove 3+ hours back down to them to board our doggos because I knew that they would be happy, safe, and well loved. If that doesn't tell you how great they are, I don't know what could! Jake and his team are amazing!

Our boy is a rescue who has been through some things and is very weary and anxious in new places with new people, making it difficult for us to find a groomer. Our vet recommended this place, so we gave them a call, explained our situation and set up an appt. As soon as I walked in I was impressed. The atmosphere was calming and while I could tell he was nervous, the staff were kind and patient and he went right with them. We've been back since, and we couldn't be any happier. Definitely glad we found this place!! ❤️

I take my sweet dog Beanie to the Happy Dog to get her nails clipped when needed. She absolutely will not let me do it and howls her little head off. The people at Happy Dog love the dogs in their care, and keep my Beanie calm while clipping her. The day care pups seem very happy with each other as well. Very importantly, the staff is very friendly, and prices are very reasonable. I would recommend Happy Dog to any dog owner who wants TLC for their fuzzy buddies.

Oh how my fur babies clean up nicely! Both of my boys have been groomed here. Always a friendly, timely and informative service! 10/10 would recommend Happy Dog Grooming for your fur babies. Today was little red’s first time being groomed. Service was expected to be 2-4 hrs as Melissa (Groomer) makes sure to take her time and moves at the puppies tempo. Little red was finished in about 1.5 hrs. I greatly appreciate that the puppy’s stress levels are taken into account and they are NOT forced into being groomed, leading to harm or further distress.
