(from Google)Five out of five stars, I would HIGHLY recommend! Memorable experiences! My experience at the running trails was something I will never forget. Originally, I wasn't planning on running at all. I just wanted to sit on the bench and enjoy the serene ambiance of the peacefully flowing water fountains while reading my favorite self-help book recommended to me by a friend. As the sun began to set, the sky painted a magnificent hue of orange and pink, casting a warm glow on the freshly cut landscaping. Suddenly, a strange and furry object broke the stillness of the water's surface, sending ripples throughout the pond. I wasn't quite sure what it was at first, and I was roughly a mile away from home with no cell phone as to not distract me from losing myself in the book. I watched in shock and awe as a myocaster coypus, also known to the locals as a nutria, emerged from the water. Though warned about the creature's aggressive nature, I remained motionless, entranced by the majestic creature's piercing gaze. The look in his eyes told me that they run the land around these parts. I was clearly in his territory and at his mercy. I slowly rose from the bench and backed away cautiously. With every step, I feared for my life, dreading the thought of the nutria's orange fangs sinking into my flesh. But, to my surprise, the nutria showed no signs of aggression. He retreated to the depths. Perhaps it was the mutual respect that existed between us, or maybe it was the nutria's merciful nature; but I knew it was time to leave and fast. With no phone to call for help, I took off running my way through the trail in a zigzagging pattern, hoping to outrun the nutria's wrath. Heart pounding, adrenaline pumping, I ran like never before. By zigzagging, I not only ensured my safety had the nutria changed his mind; but I also covered two miles of running within a single mile of trail. As I made it back home safely, I couldn't help but feel a newfound respect for the nutria and the untamed beauty of the trails. A life-changing experience that I would never forget.
We just love the trails this time of year. All the snakes 🐍 crawl out of the ponds and lay on the banks enjoying the sun. The kids love watching the alligator 🐊 next to the bus stop. My son had a squirrel chase him down for food since they are so used to being fed. There’s alway a variety of game birds and nutria to choose from.
I got a PR on my last mile after being chased by a hoard of Nutria rats. Even better, when I finished I had to run through a gaggle of geese which as they flew away sounded like thousands of people clapping for me. Between the thunderous applause of the geese and the gunshots from the neighbors, there is no better place to run in all of league city.
This running trail is the best! The copious amounts of animals such as nutria, ducks, fish popping, and random fireworks make running an interactive sport of random happenings. It's like a real life game show!
Beautiful subdivision
