Excellent stone dust and sand trail. Easy walking. Great views of the foothills and the city. Lots of opportunities to go off trail and explore. A very good variety of birds to be seen for the birders out there.

Well-maintained trail with a surface that is partway between pea gravel and sand (native desert soil), and wooden rails on either side of the 10’ wide trail. Excellent running surface. If you go west from the parking area, it is 1.3 miles to the end of the trail. You can sidestep the trail at that point and go an additional .7 miles along a gravel road alongside the powerline. There are also many many side trails off the main trail that you can use to add distance to your hike/run and explore the wildlife more closely. There are a few steep incline/declines (10% to 15%). Nice!

I love hiking so I decided to go to this place and see what happened… My car window was smashed and my backpack with my notebooks were stolen. This happened between 1 and 2 p.m. last Wednesday, in broad daylight. A horrible experience.

Nice place to walk. However people take their dogs and don’t pick up their poop 💩. Please keep clean this beautiful place!

Review for February 1st 2022. Barrel Springs Park & Ride hike Trail is located in Palmdale California. This Hydro also connects to the Tejon Park Trail in equestrian area. It is an awesome spot for hiking, jogging, mountain biking, or simply just walking the trail. There are lots of mountainous areas where you can go off Trail and it's very Scenic and beautiful. The weather today was perfect for a winter day. I came by in the morning and there was lots of people already on their hike. I rode my mountain bike on the trail and so many wonderful spots off Trail. I'm not guilty, to say that I absolutely love the Wilderness and hiking and mountain biking.
