It's clean, it's well closed-off from nature. The people are friendly. The dogs are friendly. The multi-gender (family) bathrooms are clean. Plenty of parking. The dog park is next to a kid playground. The temp is slightly cooler than inland valley temps. There is a nature hike trail that starts in this park as well. It's starts by the dog park and heads behind it into the hills. For my small dog, he did not like the feeling of the woodchips on his paws.
Wood chips makes it not dog friendly period. Danger of splinters, dogs can not run, and one bench is even buried in wood chips. Same goes for the kids playground. White elephant
A wood-chip only surface makes this dog park a bit uncomfortable and dusty for the dogs and humans alike. Little shade and sitting space makes it less hospitable than it should be. The parking lot has the weirdest surface - a honeycomb filled with small rocks - impossible to navigate easily by anyone with balance or issues with walking. Overall, despite a nice location, it is a failure in my opinion.
Very nice Park: clean, secure, there's a water fountain for the pups. The experience depends entirely on how many other dogs show up; sometimes not enough to.
