(from Google)Lots of free parking. Clean-ish bathhouse with outdoor showers. Dog friendly. Pavilion with picnic tables and a grill.
Great parking area for the beach. And dogs are allowed! We loved seeing the sky divers land on the beach through the day too.
Home to the largest sand dune in Florida! There is always gopher tortoise action here! This is a fairly hidden beach access park that is never really crowded. There is history here that deals with slave ships, but I'm not a historian, so I dont know the details, or the accuracy of the historical signifigance. The beach is called "American Beach" and the local community takes pride in living in this "historical" place. There is grills and restrooms at this park. 🙂
Not very many people on the beach right now. There was surf fishing, dog walking, people walking for exercise and a few basking in the sun. It's not like American Beach anymore, it's more like Amelia Island part two.
Easy access to the park from the southern end of Amelia Island. Spacious parking, pavillion with grill, picnic tables, bathroom facilities with running water. Indoor and outdoor showers. Nice boardwalk over the dunes to the beach. Less busy than some of the other public beaches on the island. Free entry and free parking.
