Absolutely loved visiting El Yunque. The rainforest is incredibly green with beautiful views everywhere you stop. Tip: a lot of people line up for the visitor center, but you don’t need to do that, most of the forest and scenic stops are free to explore. Just drive through and enjoy the viewpoints and trails. I recommend going early (around 8 AM) so it’s easier to find parking and beat the crowds. Don’t miss Yokahú Tower for amazing views. My partner and son did one of the hikes and said it was beautiful and totally worth it. Definitely a must-visit in Puerto Rico. 🌿

Great birding spot with a fantastic aerial walkway for canopy views. Very active birdlife. Arrive at sunrise for a chance to spot the wild Puerto Rican Parrot!

The El Yunque Visitor Center charges $8 per person, or $4 with a U.S. National Parks annual pass. The visitor center itself is nice, and there is a short trail (about 20 minutes) that is very beautiful. See the attached trail map. However, the trail is easy to miss if you’re not specifically looking for it, so be sure to ask or check signage when you arrive.

🌳Natural Rain Forest to Experience! Did a medium to hard Mt. Britton Towerview Trail. You will be walking on a raised concrete platform (~2 feet wide) most of the trail. Need good grip hike shoes. Great 360 view from the tower. Parking was tricky around 11am. Just Hike It!

Nature at its best. A cool rainforest center located deep inside the mountain trail for the El Yunque National Forest Mountain. The information desk was very helpful with directions of how to go around the mountain at the same time the gift shop was really good. A nice stop over as you drive up the mountain. It has a few trails too but not that long. We took one and we ended up at a employee only area so we had to turn back. To access here you pay something like $8 per person. This place too has clean restrooms and a cafe for those who wish to dine in. All in all its a cool place altogether.
