Cumberland River Greenway - Ted Rhodes Trailhead

Easy, mostly flat trail that starts near Ted Rhodes Golf Course. Really nice views of the Cumberland River the whole way. It was pretty breezy when we went, which made biking super enjoyable. Great scenery overall and very relaxing.

Breezy cool day. The walk was great - breath of fresh air. We enjoyed the hour we spend outdoors.

If you had no other off road safe place to ride it would be satisfactory but it’s so loud and poor condition in some areas and there are homeless camps ( it’s so sad) it’s really the worst “ greenway” I’ve ever ridden on. The very first part is river and trees but it’s shortly replaced by industry .

One of my favorite Greenways in Nashville. It begins at the Ted Rhodes Golf course and continues along the Cumberland River connecting to (if you want to go that far) the Germantown neighborhood (Magdeburg trail) and to the music city bike trail. The trail is clean and well maintained in most areas. There is overgrown shrubbery in some spots but not so overgrown that it impedes the trail. The scenery of the river is beautiful and there are many spots along the way for picture taking. Once you cross under the Interstate 65 bridge the path is closer to the river. There are seating areas to take a break or just to enjoy the scenery. This area is also used by some homeless persons and you can spot many tents erected in the bushes. However the area is quiet and they pose no threat. Visit this Greenway to take in a part of the Cumberland scenery..it is a great way to spend an afternoon.

BEWARE. DON'T PARK HERE. PARK AT THE GOLF COURSE. We use this trail head several times per week. Two weeks ago, we parked here as usual, the only car there in the middle of a bright, sunny, warm winter day (the golf course was packed) only to come back to our rear window smashed out and my niece's purse gone. Our windows are tinted and there's no way her purse in the floor board could have been seen from outside. We should have been more aware of our surroundings because there were TWO other piles of smashed glass in the parking lot. Park instead at the golf course, a few hundred feet down from this smaller lot. Note that the golf course and lot are closed on Mondays in the off season. Edit 2/1/2023: still recommend to everyone I see parking here not to park here. Break-ins still occur, as the glass piles attest to. People not just looking to steal money, but also GUNS. PLEASE DON'T LEAVE GUNS IN YOUR CAR.
