This pet store has the most amazing healthy selection of food and treats. The gals that owned the store are so knowledgeable and kind!! Whenever I’m in San Francisco, I make it a point to visit the store and grab all the unique things that they have to offer. Plus my dog gets to take a bath and they’re super cute orange claw foot tub tubs!!!! It is so adorable!!!

Holy moly wow! This may be the holy grail of pet food stores. Their self wash baths are beyond glamorous and relaxing. Usually my pup sobs during bathtime. He was chill here. Very special place. Worth a visit.

🌟 Finally — a Pet Store That Actually Cares as Much as You Do! I made the drive all the way from Sacramento to visit Maxwell’s Pet Bar — and it was 100% worth it! I have a Belgian Malinois, and even before visiting, the team was incredibly helpful over the phone, answering all my questions about nutrition and what food would be best for her. When I arrived, I was even more impressed. The shop is beautiful, well-organized, and stocked only with the highest quality, thoughtfully curated products. You can tell every item is chosen with real expertise and care. The owners are wonderful — friendly, knowledgeable, and deeply passionate about animal health. Jen took her time walking me through the best options for my dog and explaining the “why” behind each recommendation. It felt like talking with friends who genuinely care as much as I do about pets. Even though I could probably order online, I’ll gladly make the drive again just to experience that kind of authentic customer service. If you’re serious about your pet’s wellbeing, Maxwell’s Pet Bar is truly one of a kind.

Our kitty is our love and life. We want to give her the best quality everything so she can be her most vital and vibrant self. I found the Maxwell's Pet Bar when my old pet food store consistently sold out of their variety of raw-meat for cats. Once I stepped into Maxwell's Pet Bar, I knew I had found my haven for everything I needed to keep our kitty properly nourished, entertained and everything in between...and more! :) I love that there is a great variety of raw-meat cat food brands to choose from and there are also various broths and treats to try as well. All the food that they offer is always sourced from the highest quality farms with the highest quality ingredients. And mega plus they source from small, independent businesses! We've definitely purchased some toys here that she's thoroughly enjoyed such as a felt-wool sushi roll. We also buy supplements at Maxwell's Pet Bar for kitty whenever she needs it. Lastly, Kristi and Jen are quality human beings. They are always genuinely happy to see you every time you walk in and it is very obvious that providing the best resources for your fur-baby is their passion. I regularly refer people I know with fur-babies to the Maxwell's Pet Bar because I know they will be in the very best hands. Hazel and Bumble-Bee are also phenomenal hosts.

This place is absolutely stunning! Best snacks, wonderful owners, and extremely convenient baths. Our dog loves coming here! Today he had bath in Maxwell's pet bar for the first time, and I've been incredibly impressed by how the owners though through every part of the experience: bath stairs, collar hook, shampoo, conditioner, face wash, towels and apron, and tissues for cleaning inside the ears! And even the blow drying. All for $45. Unbelievable! Will be coming here again for snacks, bath, and just a good time.
