My sister and I went here because we wanted to see the Prairie Dog Town. Located outside of town, I can easily imagine what it felt like to live on a Prairie. This park is vast. It has great panoramic views, seeing endless lands. This park has many amenities for its visitors ! There's hiking, boating, water skiing, fishing, golfing ( disc) , horseback riding, camping, etc.. But to me, I could watch the Prairie Dogs all day. Its inhabitants are very active and busy. I would say to children, they're visiting each other, as they go in and out of their underground dens ! Come, See, Visit, There are many amenities here ! Be busy or be restful ! Here there are both !

We attended the New Years day hike and then stayed to hike all of the trails. Ranger L was a good guide and host. All of the trails were well manicured and marked. The trails in Arrowhead are easy for hiking and biking. You could even do all of the trails with an off road wheel chair. There is abundant wildlife and close access to fishing. The park has loaner fishing equipment. The park even has a tunnel under the highway. We will be back.

Nestled in the prairie of North Texas near Wichita Falls, Lake Arrowhead State Park is a relaxing outdoor getaway that offers a solid mix of water-based recreation, camping, and nature experiences without the crowds you’ll find at larger parks. Trails wind through prairie, woodland, and shoreline, providing enjoyable hiking & biking — including easy family-friendly paths and longer loops for a half-day trek. There’s even an 18-hole disc golf course for a fun diversion. It won’t wow if you’re expecting dramatic scenery, the park delivers a quiet, well-rounded outdoor experience that’s perfect for fishing trips, relaxed camping, or an active day exploring nature close to Wichita Falls.

Had a great time fall camping. Trails were good for just getting out, nothing too exhaustive for the normal person. There are some nice paved trails for elderly. Disc golf course was surprisingly good! Really enjoyed it! Bathrooms were really nice and had running water. Showers had hot water. Will definitely be bringing wife and family back when it warms up.
