The Drs and technicians at this office are true proffesionals and very special. Dr. Bloedel is truly one of a kind. The manner by which he explains what he finds and sees always puts me at ease that my dogs are in the right hands. Truly a good hearted caring man.

I went to this Veterinarian clinic because of Google reviews about Tyler Bloedel so I want to return the favor. I was looking for a new exotic vet to see my rabbits located in Ventura. This clinic and the staff made it a great first experience. First, I requested the vet tech to weigh one of my rabbits on the floor as she is very fiesty and will try and leap out of your arms or when on a table and my greatest fear is her breaking a leg in doing so. The vet tech gladly obliged my request. (The previous exotic vet we went to at another clinic last year would not do so.) Tyler and the vet tech handled both of my rabbits with care. Tyler was able to answer my questions about their diet and I felt he was much more knowledgeable about rabbits that I had experienced before. Tyler also did a very thorough examination of both of my rabbits. They also received their RHVD2 vaccines with certificates. We were sent home with a new patient rabbit goodie bag that had lots of printed resources about what types of vegetables rabbits can eat, pictures that demonstrate their body language and other helpful information. There was also some hay and pellets in it. If you have pet rabbits, I highly recommend this clinic.

I took my Cattle Dog Blue Heeler for his check up and he had an Excellent vet visit! The Assistant was very Helpful, Friendly, Kind and Caring Excellent Service and Dr. Pelayo is the Best she is very Thorough, Kind, Great, Informative, Caring, Friendly and a good Listener! Our dog Kona gets nervous going to the vet, but Dr. Pelayo makes Kona feel Loved and Cared for each visit! We had a Saturday morning vet visit and it was Great! The Best visit ever! I truly can’t say enough good things about East Ventura Animal Hospital. I’ve been bringing my rabbits here since 2016, after moving to Ventura, and this is now my fourth set of rescued bunnies. As someone who has owned and rescued rabbits for many years, one of my biggest concerns when I relocated was finding consistent, specialized care. Bunnies are considered exotic animals, and not every veterinary office has a doctor on staff who truly specializes in exotic care as a regular part of their team. At the time, I wasn’t sure how long I’d be willing to commute back to Santa Barbara to maintain that level of care. I actually found East Ventura in the most unexpected way — I ran into a woman at the grocery store wearing their logo on her scrubs. We got to talking, and she recommended the practice. I decided to give them a try, and I was sold almost immediately. Over the years, I’ve worked with multiple doctors there, and every single one has been wonderful. Their exotic animal care has always felt intentional and knowledgeable, not secondary. Even before Dr. Tyler Bloedel joined the practice, my rabbits consistently received excellent care. Dr. Bloedel is now one of my absolute favorites. Dr. Bloedel recently performed surgery on my rabbit, Rocket, after finding a cyst, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. I received an update shortly after surgery letting me know how Rocket was doing, which meant a lot. Dr. Bloedel also clearly outlined what to expect over the next 24–48 hours in a way that was reassuring and easy to understand. I especially appreciated the follow-up call the next day checking in on how Rocket’s first night went and whether he was eating. That level of care and follow-through truly matters. Anytime I call the office, the staff is professional, courteous, and kind. Even if I need to be placed on hold, they’re always respectful. If I leave a concern or message, it consistently gets passed along, and someone always calls me back. If I miss the call, they leave clear, friendly voicemails that are easy to understand — not overly clinical or confusing. I trust East Ventura Animal Hospital completely with my bunnies. After many years and multiple rabbits, that trust is not given lightly. I wouldn’t go anywhere else and highly recommend them to anyone looking for knowledgeable, compassionate exotic animal care.
