Happy Cat Hotel & Spa Alexandria

A truly amazing experience! We left our furry son Diego there for 8 days. It took him a couple of days to acclimate but once he did it seemed like he really enjoyed his stay. We loved the daily updates with pictures and synopsis of activities. The team there was kind and helpful; you can really tell they're cat people. We were worried Diego was going to be mad at us once we brought him home but that wasn't the case. He was happy and immediately slotted right back into his normal rhythm. We were very relieved. We will definitely be coming back to Happy Cat Hotel in the future!

I highly recommend the Happy Cat Hotel! Our two 8-month old kittens stayed here for a few days while we were out of town. It was their first time away from us. Happy Cat Hotel took such good care of them, especially the one that was so homesick. There is also a cam link option, which was great so that we could see our beloved kitties from afar at any time. Staff here is outstanding!

My cat loved her experience at the Happy Cat Hotel! We had to board our cat, Mokie, quickly and unexpectedly due to a house flood and home repairs shortly after 2026 began. We initially did not know how long we would need boarding for Mokie since three rooms in our house had been flooded (and there were lots of timelines and contractors we needed to account for to get everything fixed). I was nervous about boarding Mokie, of course, since we had never boarded her before but I knew that boarding was our only option while our house was undergoing repairs. Everyone at the Happy Cat Hotel was wonderful, responsive, and very understanding. They were able to get me set up in their system the same day that I ended up dropping off Mokie for boarding. I adored receiving their daily reports and pictures which reassured me that she was having a great time. I could tell that each and every person at the Happy Cat Hotel cared deeply for my kitty and showered her with love. Mokie ended up staying at the hotel for a month and when I came to pick her up, she didn't want to leave! Dealing with a house flood was the most stressful experience of my life but I'm so glad that my cat didn't have to endure any of that stress. Instead, she got to have a one-month long, luxurious vacation at this incredible cat hotel! 10/10 would highly recommend!!

We had a wonderful experience with Happy Cat Hotel and highly recommend them. The facility is bright, spotless, and completely odor-free. The moment you walk in, you can tell how well cared for it is. The location is very convenient, and every staff member we interacted with clearly genuinely loves cats. The rooms are spacious and thoughtfully designed, and they are noticeably larger than other cat-boarding options we looked at in the DC metro area. We also really appreciated how careful and conscientious they are about security. Doors are always locked and staff are very mindful of who is let in, which gave us real peace of mind knowing there was no risk of our cats accidentally escaping. The staff were also incredibly kind in allowing all of our children to come in and say goodbye at drop-off, which meant a lot to our family. While we were away, we loved the daily updates, which included photos and notes about what our cats did each day. We also opted for the webcam add-on, which was absolutely worth it for us. It really put our minds at ease, and our kids loved being able to check in on the kitties whenever they wanted while we were away. Our cats are bonded siblings, and they seemed relaxed, comfortable, and at ease throughout their stay. We picked them up happy and calm. Happy Cat Hotel is a fantastic business and a real asset to the community. We will definitely use them again and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for high-quality cat boarding.

Five stars - Nala’s home away from home! I absolutely love Happy Cat Hotel in Alexandria. My cat, Nala, has stayed here at least five times since 2022, and she already has two stays planned for 2026. Nala is prone to anxiety and does not travel well, so boarding is never an easy process for either of us. She’s usually very fussy at drop-off, but what really says everything is that by the time I come to pick her up, she genuinely doesn’t want to leave. It’s such a relief knowing she’s not just safe, but actually comfortable and cared for while I’m away. One of my favorite parts is the daily email updates with photos. Seeing her relaxed, curious, and settling in each day makes a huge difference. It’s the highlight of my day when she’s there. Also, the rooms are adorable. Nala has stayed in a different room each visit, and every single one has been so fun, unique, and thoughtfully designed. Her favorites so far have been Costa Rica Kitty and Cat Napa Valley! If you’re looking for a place that truly understands cats (especially anxious ones) and treats them with so much attention and love, I can’t recommend Happy Cat Hotel enough.
