Review for Cori and Tray – Dedicated, Canine-First Trainers I’ve had the pleasure of working with Cori and Tray multiple times over the years, and every experience has reinforced my belief that they are truly exceptional dog trainers. What sets them apart is their unwavering commitment to putting the dog first in every situation. They don’t follow a one-size-fits-all approach—instead, they take the time to understand each dog’s individual needs, personality, and learning style. Cori and Tray are forever students, always learning and evolving to ensure they are providing the best possible guidance. Their dedication to education and growth is evident in how they approach each training session. They don’t just train dogs—they build relationships with them, always striving to bring out the best in every canine they work with. What I appreciate most is the individualized care they apply to every dog. No matter the breed, temperament, or challenge, they meet each dog where they are and tailor their methods accordingly. It’s clear that their priority is the well-being and success of the dog above all else. If you’re looking for trainers who are knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly dedicated to the dogs they work with, Cori and Tray are the ones to trust. Their approach is thoughtful, their methods effective, and their hearts are fully in it. I can’t recommend them highly enough!

PLEASE READ. This is Goose. Sweet Goose was one of my favorite dogs to take care of because he was so snuggly, sweet, well-behaved and a goofball! I would always look forward to watching Goose and his sister Gracie and our nighttime cuddles. Over the summer, Goose’s parents went out of town and trusted @blackhorsek9 to take care of their boy. While they were on vacation, Goose’s mom got the call no dog mom ever wants to receive. Goose had passed away unexpectedly overnight. Of course his parents were devastated and shocked — Goose was in perfect health and still a young pup, with no pre-existing medical conditions. The kennel workers, Tray and Cori, were sympathetic and apologized for their loss, but offered up no explanation as to what happened. Goose’s parents decided to get a necropsy (an autopsy for animals) to try and get some answers and the result was absolutely crushing. Poor Goose had died from heat stroke overnight due to gross negligence on behalf of Blackhorse K9, who did not provide adequate cooling or hydration. Goose’s parents demanded answers and the Ring footage from the kennel, which Blackhorse K9 refused to provide. Even after a police report was filed, Blackhorse claimed the footage was lost and “without malicious intent,” no animal cruelty crime could be proven to be committed. I know not every kennel or boarding facility is this irresponsible. And I’m sure Blackhorse did not intentionally mean to kill Goose, but the fact is they are responsible for his death and are still able to operate and take in other people’s pets/other people’s family members. Goose will not get his justice, but please, please, please think twice before you take your animals to Blackhorse. 💔

Confident Companions

Learning something new is hard and sometimes overwhelming. I feel very fortunate to have such a kind and talented trainer to teach me. Tray doesn’t mind saying the same thing 15 different ways until the message clicks, and he doesn’t lose his patience with me when I don’t get it right away. He treats my dog with the same respect.

I worked with Blackhorse K9 to get my crazy boxer Luigi trained! With my disabled mom living with me, I needed a trainer to take my dog from a rude dog known for biting, jumping, and not being able to settle and make him into a dog that would be respectful, gentle and obedient! Their owner Tray and their trainer Cori helped me feel confident handling my dog and confident in my dog to be around my mom again! Thank you Blackhorse K9!
