(from Google)Great deli. Love their hot foods. They're broccoli turmeric superfood salad and curry chicken salad are fantastic. Their barbecue ribs in the hot case are incredible and they also have a good selection of Chinese take out.
I had a craving for fried chicken and Safeway is the only source in Seaside since KFC closed. I went to the deli counter at 5:15 on a Monday night and ordered an 8 piece mixed for $8.99 and a pound of Jojos. I waited10 minutes to get the Jojos as they were still cooking. The young lady assisting me handed the bags and I noticed that I only received 1/2 pound of JoJos and the chicken was $19.99 for 1 pound 5 ounces of Chicken! I got the pricing and order corrected and went home to discover I had only received 6pieces of chicken! 1 breast, 1 back, 2 scrawny wings and 2 drumsticks! The staff not only couldn't count, she did not know how to identify the pieces as I received a back instead of a breast! I was very disappointed in the lack of meat in this purchase as the back and 2 wings were just breading. Poor food quality from this deli counter and zero training for a new employee! This is a warning that you should check your purchase and pricing before leaving the store! Consider me extremely disappointed!
The front team lead, Alison, is extremely unprofessional and rude to customers. She was called to help drive up and go, after waiting for my DELIVERY order since 11am, I was fed up and went into the store to pick it up since their in store shoppers didn’t do my order right until I called at 4pm asking where my order was. I tried explaining this to her and she proceeded to yell at me in front of so many customers. She said I shouldn’t be there to pick up my delivery and I needed to wait. I explained it was supposed to be there at 11am but it wasn’t done correctly and I couldn’t wait anymore because it was pushing back my thanksgiving prep. All I wanted was my grocery’s I spent a lot of money on. I gave her the proof and everything and I eventually got fed up with how she was refusing to help me and was helping everyone else around, went home and called Safeway Corporate about the situation and how Alison is the worst employee I encountered and they have someone that smells so badly there, I have puked. She not only embarrassed me but also the store with the lack of professional. The people all around me said she is the worst person in the store and saw me shaking from the nasty words she was saying. She does not deserve to have a customer service job with how she treats long term customers. This isn’t the first bad experience with Alison. She uses her “power” to treat customers wrongly. Her and the store assistant manager, Ronny, are also buying up all the nice Starbucks bear mugs before they open the store and resales them on eBay for the triple the price. Allison has always been extremely unprofessional but after I spent $400 on a grocery order, to be treated like that was disgusting especially knowing that this store will not do anything to reprimand her. I will only shop at Fred Meyers now, I would rather drive 20 minutes than deal with unprofessional and rude people. They like to hire checkers who don’t shower or wear deodorant. This causes the whole store to reek constantly of body odor. They have a monopoly over this small town and it’s sad they can’t hire competent and professional workers. This is truly one of the worst Safeway stores here in Oregon. It’s sad they refuse to hire people who are competent, shower, and actually are helpful people. There’s constantly moldy fruit and veggies, strawberries, onions(the worst always have mold) and so many other gross issues. The sad part is people in the small town have to deal with the awful quality of workers and food Seaside Safeway provides.
Customer service 5 out of 5. I lost my phone last week for the very first time ever in my life having a very stressful night. Dint realize it until an hour an half later I was freaking the hell out. I thought"Well that's gone for good like someone stole it. Because thats all we live in is people stealing everything you work hard for. By some miracle a Safeway Employee found it and customer service had locked it up in a drawer to keep it safe. My significant other called and described the phone and they had it and we got it back!! Thank-you so much Safeway for restoring my faith back in humanity. Not everyone is trying to steal from you. Lesson learned tho double check i have my phone. And keep up the great work Safeway! Thanks again.
Spent $334 at the Seaside OR Safeway yesterday and needed a few more items this morning including some cold and flu tablets for someone ill in our vacation party. Used the self checkout and was surprised when self checkout "helper" asked to see ID. "What for?" I thought. I'm not buying liqour or guns. "It's for the cold tablets" he said. Now I don't like bringing my bulky wallet in the store with me so just had my credit card and Safeway club card. I asked about the age restriction on cold tablets and he said it was 21. Now it wasn't that long ago when retail stores, restaurants, etc used a common sense approach to age verification. If a person looked under 21, be on the safe side and ask for ID. This Safeway worker deflected the dumb policy decision blaming "OLCC" I haven't mentioned it yet but I'm 71 and anyone who thinks I may not be 21 is either being stupid on purpose or just enjoys following dumb policies. When a very stupid policy like this starts being enforced , I'm not going to just happily comply. I see it as a test of the powers that be seeing how easily the public will go along with some new requirement, whether public or private sector. Bottom line - it is stupid and ridiculous to ask someone obviously over 60 to produce documentation that they are at least 21. I'm pushing back on this nonsense.
